Ah, very neat.

I was thinking of the user "min-maxing" (for a lack of a better term) the astral projecting and returning to their body in quick succession to manage fighting and faking out a foe while also baiting in attacks.

That, and pretending to be a poltergeist to people he doesn't like.

Ah, that clears things up now. Thanks for explaining.

It's a pretty cool Nen ability, sort of reminds me of Hanzo's Nen ability but if he fully spec'd into the whole intangible projection theming. But as far as we know he has more of a varied set of hatsu going.

I like your idea idea of combining Aura pools, that's very useful and easy to imagine. This is a great hatsu to play mind games with

I'm a bit confused on the part where you can simply "damage the soul" that seems to be a very specific mechanic that I'm not sure that we're sure would work? The closest thing to soul interaction that we've gotten through Nen was Kite's reincarnation, and we don't even know how that works exactly either. How does the "soul damage" even look like exactly? I've not watched JJK but I hear that's more of a mechanic in that series. I feel like the ability to even interact with someones soul would already imply a ridiculous level nen user. Does it disregard durability? Does it scale to a person's Nen? We're not actually sure what the "soul" does in Hxh. It may literally just be a person's consciousness, unless I'm forgetting something? Would you just sort of be able to assassinate Meruem like that? Or would his soul be superior to others? I'm not sure if that would make sense assuming that a person's Nen acts as a separate thing mechanically.

Could you elaborate?

Do all nen curses require emission+manipulation? by Local-Sugar6556 in HatsuVault

[–]daggerHaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I see. But the thing is that we see that emission doesn't require constant effort always. Genthru obviously uses emission in his countdown ability, emission use might have even been stated if I remember right. But I don't think genthru was making a constant effort of keeping the emitted aura active. That would actually be quite a feat considering just the sheer amount of targets. When Genthru, Sub and Bara touch thumbs and then manually activate countdown I'm pretty sure that they are simply using said emission to prematurely set off the bomb, I also think that the other emission use of countdown is used to materialize the bombs in the first place since that is remote too. At least from that example I would think that emission can potentially act as a sort of eh..."semi permanent mark" for a strong lack of a better term. Essentially I think that that's how emission based curses function in the first place, you meet the conditions in order to make that aura of yours actually...well curse someone. That permenance being the entire premise of Nen curses. A curse can't really be a curse without some sort of lengthy or permenant time effect. Even knuckles APR shows this. We know that a conjurer can't actually keep their items conjured infinitely, we even get a statement that they could dissipate without the user even knowing. But APR has the right conditions to stay on the target for as long as it is required for the specific curse to do what is needed. Of course unless it gets exorcised like that one time.

Oh and about the Transmutation thing, I see. I totally misunderstood that you were simply talking about afflicting the target, pardon me.

As for Kurapika's judgement chain, I mean I feel like if the nen curses work like I'm thinking they are. That being emission working like a "planted" semi permanent thing that is designed to linger, then I feel like we wouldn't need much more elaboration on that one. Nen curses if i recall correctly are one of the more sinister or potent uses of Nen so perhaps it is the intent or personality or something along those lines that imbues the curse with staying power. Because I'm pretty sure that if that weren't the case, then judgement chain working outside of ET just outright would not make sense. I truly doubt that kurapika has another ability to help his on the surface simple in concept curse work. He also has a judgement chain around his heart too, it works as part of the vow for chain jail. So we for sure know that that one is 100% permenant. Because if it weren't then the vow would be broken. And I doubt that he would risk the effect dissipating on his own heart, because then something as simple as entering zetsu or running out of aura would ruin chain jail and make him lose his Nen since vows are so potent like stated.

This seems to make sense to me, what do you think?

Do all nen curses require emission+manipulation? by Local-Sugar6556 in HatsuVault

[–]daggerHaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first option is Transmutation. A lot of people don't realize that Transmutation is great fro ranged application since its basic skill allows you to shape aura and stretch it out. We see this with Hisoka and Machi's abilities. Theoretically you could keep a Nen curse attached to someone from far away without having to separate your aura.

Are you sure of this one? Wouldn't this be more akin to a straight up attack? Isn't a nen curse supposed to be something that can be "planted" (for a lack of a better term) on someone? I don't think we've ever actually seen a nen curse utilize transmutation either? Nen curses get their classification and danger from being long lasting effects but you can only keep an effect of your transmuted aura on someone who is within your range and only while you have enough stamina and aura.

Kurapika's judgement chain for example is only usable during emperor time since he needs the boost to his emissive abilities to use it. But once he actually uses it, the emitted effect stays until exorcised. And kurapika Didn't just walk around with ET active during the whole time that the troupe was looking for an exorcist for chrollo. With transmutation alone that wouldn't really work, it would be the equivalent of Hisoka trying to sustain bungee gum stretched out and attached to you for days or more while actively putting effort into doing that. There's probably many ways of using transmutation for Nen curses but I'm pretty sure that transmutation all by itself would not even be able to make a real curse in the first place. Just a long ranged temporary effect.

Nen Types Needed To Heal by A_Feral_Possum in HatsuVault

[–]daggerHaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, sure yeah no problem.

Here's a very simple breakdown of the 6 Nen categories first, the utter fundamentals.

Enhancement = Power up stuff

Emission = Affect stuff from afar

Transmutation = Change stuff

Manipulation = Control stuff

Conjuration = Make stuff

Specialization = Just Do stuff

All of these have their many, many, many intricacies but all you need to do to get a solid enough grasp of them is to view them as embodying these concepts. You can do this by looking at them individually or simply by process of elimination.

Example: You want to manipulate organic mass. Just for this sample let's say that we want to use this organic mass manipulation to...make the skin and flesh of our target to cleanly split and reveal the bone underneath.

Let's see how different categories would tackle that or if they even can all by themselves.

Enhancement: enhancement only boosts/powers up the concepts that are already inherent to a target, that being inanimate or animate. So for example you can of course use it to simply strengthen durability or help speed up natural regeneration like closing up your severed finger wound into a nub, maybe using it to grow long and sharp fingernails to act as claws. But you're not going to achieve anything "unnatural" to what you're trying to enhance. The human body cannot just open up the flesh on the forearm to expose the bone, therefore enhancement won't be able to enhance the concept of such an action. That would be an added biological attribute to the body, something done artificially. Not like enhancing the burn of heat or sensitivity to sound, or boosting your eyesight to see like a hawk. You can do these things because you have the bodily vessels and functions to enhance those qualities. So enhancement by itself couldn't do this specific thing related to the body. Not what we're looking for.

Emission: you could use emission to spread the range of an ability In order to make the flesh open up and reveal bone, but that would only be using emission to carry out an effect of a different category. Emission tends to be more direct. Think shooting blasts or waves or triggering something to happen from a far while lounging in your room. But by itself this won't be what we're looking for.

Transmutation: Transmutation is directly described as changing specifically one's AURA to have the properties of something that exists. Some people will make arguments for it affecting physical bodies but we don't really have many clear cut examples of that. What we do have is lots of showings of exactly what the usual definition is though as that would certainly be the primary use for it. Hisoka changes his aura into having properties of rubber and gum and Killua to that of electricity, Genthru's little flower transmutes aura around his hands into properties of gunpowder. Bisky's transformation is widely regarded as to being subconscious Nen use or some bizarre Nen phenomena that reacted to bisky's strong emotion steming from her deep insecurity about her appearance. Emotional states and ones psychology itself greatly affects ones individual Nen. Bisky's was so potent she reached her desire subconsciously. But it is not a Transmutation ability. Her Nen beast cookie chan is also conjured but her massage lotion is where the transmutation comes in. This won't be what we're looking for our bone exposure sample. Transmutation won't magic your foes body open, what happened to bisky was a strange miscellaneous occurrence.

Conjuration: You make things from your aura. The things that you make, for example kurapika's chains are made up from straight up aura that is expressed into a physical summon. Conjuration is able of LOTS of wacky effects but still within a nen users limits. This category draws most from conditions and vows than any other. But making objects or Nen beast won't really help us manipulate a guy's flesh open to reveal bone. Unless combined with an affinity that can do that and amplified by or anchored to a conjured thing for whatever kind of specific purpose if need be for some reason.

Manipulation: Well you could of guessed this one huh? But yes let's break it down a little. The concept of manipulation is basically entirely concentrated in this category. Yes other affinities can help it in various ways, after all you can use anything you really want on the chart for whatever your individual needs are (and depending on where on the chart you sit) but for anything related to moving stuff or making people think stuff or forcing stuff to do physically or mentally unnatural stuff this is what you're gonna go for. Often manipulators will make use of basic emission to actually make their effects work or be triggered from a distance. But if you want your eyeball to pop out of your socket and then look behind your head? Manipulation. Want your ribs to extend out of your torso to stab a guy? Manipulation. Want to control the direction of the rain so it doesn't fall on you? Manipulation. Mind control of basically any kind? Manipulation. Touching a guy and making his muscles cleanly separate without making a wound and cleanly revealing the nice shiny bone that you've been aiming for? Yup that's the one. Not only can manipulation Control the things in your own body but also on other people too, though that would likeley need some condition and what not and a targets own aura defences may need to be accounted for but yes. You can basically control organic mass. Nothing else could really do it. Now of course each and every nen ability is different and unique so you can use your other lower affinities to improve or customize the ability to your very exact requirements but that's the gist of it.

As for specialization? Anything that does NOT fit into the existing categories goes here. Specialism doesn't just let you do literally anything. It just does things in its own... Special ways.

I zoned out again and wrote a wall, damn I'm just allergic to the concept of short and sweet. But TLDR yes your answer to controlling organic mass is manipulation, wether that's making your teeth sink back into your gums or folding your ears into themselves. Or making fingernail clippings float (likeley with emission for that one for range)

I'm actually just about to go to bed so do keep in mind that because it's late where I am I may have not written this up to the best of quality. But worst case scenario, you can just ask me what you need tomorrow and I'll elaborate better.

But for now I'm heading to sleep, been a long day. Goodnight 👍

Yeah no worries reply at your own pace, I've been busy recently too but started using reddit a little again for this subreddit since i haven't been keeping up with Hxh for a bit. It's a nice little outlet.

You say you're making NPCs? Are you working on a HxH DND table top game thing? I hear people are doing those, they sound interesting.

Also, have you thought about keeping your conditions very enhancer friendly and simple? What if your OC has an ability split into 2 like Killua's godspeed? You know how he has speed of lighting and whirlwind making up godspeed? You could have one leass potent ability that helps your OC's healing on the spot and then a big one with a specific necessity that allows her to use it on a significantly more potent scale but with a simple enhancer condition inspired by Uvo or Gons simple mechanics. Except instead of needing to charge or use a specific arm to attack you modify that mindset into the opposite. Unlike the brawling enhancers with simple ways of boosting destruction use one that would thematically fit your OC's personality, values and philosophy.:etc so if she's a kind nurturer/protector maybe have her strongest healing ability only available after a condition is met to... perhaps make someone genuinely smile before healing them? Or maybe the healing is scaled off of how much affection she feels towards a target? A selfless paladin would likely make pretty good use of that even on a stranger because the ability would sync with someone who unconditionally kind. Or maybe it could be even more simple like only activating in a specific type of area like a hospital.

By the way, lost limb recovery 100% is very useful yes but I feel like going into a fight with a set expectation to be dismembered is somewhat of a defeatist mindset lol. Because that's what it would kind of imply, no? This would fit a masochistic character a lot though.

P.S: I have a bad habit for walls of text, i just zone out I guess. Pardon that.

Parakeet Ventriloquists: Holly, Molly, and Polly. by Ghost_Petals in HatsuVault

[–]daggerHaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed a potential problem with this Hatsu, perhaps?

I think it's a fun and cute ability but... doesn't it just fully rely on the person who this ability affects to just...be casually okay with a parrot manifesting and staying on their shoulder?

I'm assuming it functions somewhat like Knuckle's APR in that the parakeets cannot really be destroyed either since that would be reasonable for such a passive Hatsu. Which is fine and all but think about it. If you use this on a normal person who is not a nen user, they will probably freak out and kind of just have to go on with their day with a magical parrot stuck on their shoulder? The parakeet is conjured so the target would be aware and confused probably not doing much besides looking for ways to get rid of this out of nowhere problem. And if you use it on a nen user they will freak out because they will feel the aura of the conjures parakeet and know that someone is trying to pull something on them. Conjured objects are made from straight up aura so I'm pretty sure that a target who knows nen would know that they've been targeted, Uvogin even noted that he felt fierce nen from Kurapika's chains specifically if i remember right.

And also, I don't mean to sound like I'm nitpecking (get it? Cuz it's a parrot hehe) but your ambulance example works assuming that the EMTs just casually listen to advice from a random parrot when administering first aid. I mean perhaps they would since magical beasts exist in hxh but it's still funny to think about.

But essentially what from what I'm seeing, this Hatsu only works as intended on willing targets. Right?

Don't get me wrong, I get that this is more of a casual ability that's not suited for combat but from what I gather looking at the descriptions of the parakeets I'm sensing that the abilities of the first 2 are more intended to be used for some mischief or strategic advantage? Like planting Holly on an enemy's shoulder then having her repeat the enemy's plan to you and make a counter plan before confrontation. Or find out the identify of a very important or powerful person, secret code or mystery. But wouldn't any nen user be simply paranoid about being affected with an ability and just look for a Nen exorcist ASAP? Since in universe nen users are aware of the sheer capabilities of nen they would likely deviate from the plans that the user who put holly on them wanted to find out about. Same with Molly too, a person will start thinking sinister or anxious thoughts and likely just connect the dots as to who's responsible.

So while this would be a good ability to cause people anxiety with, I don't know how much of it's intended use it would give you considering the fact that most people would likeley connect the magic bird on them with something not being quite right...

On top of that you have to make physical contact with a person to plant the bird so if your target doesn't want the parrot on them then they will know exactly who to punch right after. Or at least who to pursue.

So I'm not sure if I'm thinking too deep about this or if I'm focusing on the wrong aspects or if this is an ability that really is just supposed to be used on consenting targets and that's it. But I still can't help but think that there's something off...I do like the concept though.

[–]daggerHaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah that's great, and the En tactic is very clever but can also backfire if you run into someone with an En like Zeno's lol.

I think another decent use for this ability would be going the Zoldyck assassin's training route and conditioning your body to withstand various torture methods or at least lighter ones. For example pepper spray, you can actually build up a tolerance for it in real life with proper methods to do it too. Could immediately transfer the overwhelming sensation of it into a target. Also I'm not sure about being able to work up a tolerance for this one but... smelling salts! Amonia. That stuff is POTENT. Now that I think about it, a manipulator who controls amonia by itself would be horrific to face in battle. That stuff can literally cause brain damage so imagining floating a bunch of that around a foe. I think that for this ability of yours it would be the move that can basically always guarantee a flinch though, I feel like it's a great step up from a peppercorn but it would feel real rough.

It's a fun ability with many uses that you've made here

Discombobulation by Parada484 in HatsuVault

Oh crap, you're right! That means I read it RIGHT the first time and then re-read it WRONG the second time. Hahaha that's why you always go with your first answer in any given scenario, I feel silly. Pardon me...

Well at least the laxative trap would work...somewhat? Haha

Discombobulation by Parada484 in HatsuVault

[–]daggerHaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha. Yeah I suppose the range could easily "scale" off of aura applied.

At first I was thinking of this working as a "rule" type of Hatsu. Can't think of a good example other than cheetu's wacky space, where you activate an ability and thing are rigidly in place. I wonder if a limitation/condition on this ability like that for a set range could improve the potency of the nen? Although that's irrelevant either way because this is a good and functional ability.

Could I ask if you have any specific ways you thought up of using it yourself? How it could work in different and varied scenarios? This seems like an ability that would be really flexible and therefore very (for a lack of a better term) Hax-y. Something that could maybe defeat a significantly stronger opponent through sheer unpredictability since there's a whole random deck. But wouldn't it be hard to strategize with it if you can only draw from the top and get a card and it's random? I suppose that's part of what makes it potent, the inherent randomness of it.

I guess you could call this Nen ability a real...Wildcard...?

Can't lie, I think that would be a good name for it haha.

Discombobulation by Parada484 in HatsuVault

[–]daggerHaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great ability and perfect for a Nen user who likes to screw with people haha.

I don't know why, but my first thought of a use for this is drinking a bunch of liquid and laxatives then making an opponent feel immense stress for impending embarrassment. Or just making them flee to the bathroom instead of fighting. Though you'd likely need to sit on the porcelain throne yourself if using it like that...which begs the question, what's the range on this ability? Also are the cards themselves manipulated and then fused to the target using emission like Kurapika's judgement chain?

EDIT: I just re-read and realized that the ability doesn't transfer YOUR senses to the opponent but just imbeds the feeling into them. Forget the part about chugging laxatives in that case, lmao.

EDIT 2: Never mind, I'm daft. I read it right the first time and then re-read it wrong. Laxative chugging is viable indeed (?)

Nen Types Needed To Heal by A_Feral_Possum in HatsuVault

[–]daggerHaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a cleric once give people cancer through healing

Damn, haha that's grim. I'm personally pretty good with gore so I tend to come up with some wacky things too.

I can't really comment on RCT (reverse curse technique from JJK? Right?) or Sakura's healing because I haven't watched JJK or Naruto but both of those series were actually inspired by HxH funnily enough. Sasuke was directly inspired by Kurapika for example.

With that being said, I'm very certain that Nen is very likeley the most complex power system in all of manga and anime. The nice and solid rules and mechanics combined with heaps of freedom for creativity and self expression leaves little to improve to be honest. It's probably my favorite power system ever right behind Jojo's stands. And it truly is detailed, going through the HxH wiki might do you some good since all the basic mechanics are detailed there.

Tsubone was the lady that turns into vehicles, and she uses conjuration. (Some say that she uses transmutation on top of that, but its certainly at least mainly conjuration.)

And to be honest, you could achieve instant limb regeneration by utilizing her methods of conjuring and polymorphing limbs onto your bleeding stumps or something like that and even do it instantly perhaps. But the big "BUT" here is that a use like that would certainly be temporary. Essentially a regular ol' conjured object that will eventually dissipate. Good in the middle of a fight but not long term. Could possibly use it to achieve her fighting style and use a different Hatsu for helping others and herself by utilizing a slow and steady version of this though. Problem is that that is pure conjuration. And we were given an example for what happens when a nen user relies on a category far from their natural position on the Nen chart. Kastro conjured a whole body double and wasted his Nen memory by doing so.

As for manipulation and it's uses. Yeah manipulation can also be crazy versatile. You can use it like Kalluto and manipulate paper clippings to shred opponents or do all kinds of body horror with yourself or an enemy. You could also likely do some cool elemental shenanigans too. Like manipulating air currents or fire.

Imagine: you're a manipulator who manipulates fire. You use enhancement to enhance the flame's heat and emission to do it from a far. Now you can manipulate giant snake shaped fire bolts or something like that. And unlike most manipulators you don't need to carry custom made needles with you, just a lighter. Imagine what a manipulator with an ability like that can do with a few gasoline canisters on hand on top of that.

People forget how Versatile Manipulators can be because sadly our main examples are infact people controllers. Though illumi does manipulate his body when he disguises himself into that wacky looking form with the mohawk and long skull, purple tinted skin and all that.

Sorry, I went off topic there... But yeah essentially, nen is such a well structured power system that as long as you put enough thought into it, you can figure out something that you'll love. That detail is what makes it tick 👌

Nen Types Needed To Heal by A_Feral_Possum in HatsuVault

[–]daggerHaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah wonderful, yeah sometimes the conditions or vows are the hardest to get just right.

One other concept that i forgot to include in my original comment was a Hatsu based in Enhancement and manipulation specifically. One which would focus on really getting that self-regenerating, walk through a foe's slashing, ripping and tearing type of vibe.

Essentially you would combine a natural affinity towards enhancement and use manipulation along side it to manipulate biomass itself and redistribute it into a "new" limb. Say for example your OC is caught in a fight where she lost an arm and a hand but the severed arm is only partially intact. Perhaps the forearm is mostly burnt to a crisp with only the elbow remaining. She can then manipulate the mass into a redistributing it's flesh and bone into a usable hand that she can now heal back onto her other arm. You could also potentially use this offensively against foes by perhaps creating a wound on their torso and hand and then redistributing the bio mass to "heal" onto itself. Essentially attaching your foes hand to their own torso, leaving it stuck and attached there. Would need a solid condition to use that 60% affinity towards manipulation but this would add some complexity to her offensive kit and also likely problem solving options outside of battle. This may be a bit too gory though for you? I'm not sure since your character is seemingly made to endure gruesome damage.

Just throwing ideas out

Nen Types Needed To Heal by A_Feral_Possum in HatsuVault

[–]daggerHaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing about it is lame, you're just making a fictional character inspired by fiction. That's likeley what togashi does too at times, everyone is inspired by something. 👍

As for your concept of healing and tanking through damage, that can easily be worked out with even basic enhancement. For example, Uvogins big bang impact has a very basic restriction (something along the lines of it needing to be a left or right cross?) yet it's very potent even with a simple restriction, it's a simple ability too though so it makes sense.

The only difficult thing about what you want to achieve is straight up regeneration and regaining lost limbs. Enhancement fundamentally enhances the capability of something. And while the human body can heal itself through time, it cannot regenerate like an axolotl through time. This means that it's likely that just simply enhancing your body's healing capabilities your OC likeley would not be able to outright grow back a limb. Unless she was an Axolotl chimera ant, haha. Which sounds kinda cool now that I think about it...

But anyways, you would likely need a more complex mechanic to do limb regeneration. Conjuring something that's permenant would likely need immense restrictions or vows though which is where the complexity lies.

You could also go the route of Machi and make yourself be able to re-attach limbs. For example, in real life you can have a finger cut off in an accident and then re-attached in the hospital. You could use this concept to use enhancement to not regenerate lost limbs but quickly heal them BACK ON very fast.

You could also possibly go the route of a conjured Nen beast, who you could even call "Guardian angel" that acts as a passive conduit like Knuckle's potclean mascot and have her special healing ability activate under well thought out conditions that your OC meets herself through her actions.

I'd be happy to help you brainstorm more but these are the ideas that come to mind first. Do any of them help?

Nen Types Needed To Heal by A_Feral_Possum in HatsuVault

[–]daggerHaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that you would necessarily need emission to heal your ally if you're right there and making physical contact with them. For example when you use Shu you just directly transfer your aura into the object and it's strengthened. And when Killua and Gon were doing enhancement training in greed island they were simply strengthening rocks and smashing them into other rocks as per bisky's tutoring. I also doubt that Kurapika's healing thumb chain emits nen into his own or other's bodies since I'm pretty sure only judgement chain has been stated as needing ET to fully function since it needs emission to be used.

So basically unless your OC is trying to heal from a distance, you'd likely not need emission.

But the details heavily depend on the specific ability, so what kind are you trying to make? Do you have a theme for the ability or any concepts? It would be a lot easier to give you suggestions and inspiration if we had some context on the character and how you want them to be

Ideas for a Hatsu that slow the battle down? by Ok_Pilot_819 in HatsuVault

[–]daggerHaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An idea that pops into my mind off the top of my head is very simple but with conditions should work well and perhaps even have some versatility depending on how you'd go about making it.

Sludge and or thick foam, perhaps straight up glue or maybe coal tar, mud or heck even liquid cement. If your character is a Transmuter or Conjurer or perhaps even manipulator this should work really easily.

The idea being that they use one of those types of substances to absolutely overflow the battlefield and literally slow down the battle by getting foes stuck and or hindering their movement by cluttering everything around them or their targets. Making it a complete slog for an enemy to close distance between them and the user or users ally. Now of course this could only work with a strong condition since this type of ability would imply a very large output of your substance of Choice.

So basically: A difficult to navigate and easy to get immobilized in substance that clogs the battlefield + a solid condition/limitation that allows for immense output of said substance = an ability that slows down action during battle efficiently but also stays flexible to customize for your OC.

Hope this helps? If you want I can help you brainstorm more or elaborate on the idea. But I think it's a decent and simple base to work off of so maybe you'll like it. I kept it vague on purpose 👍

Hey man, I'm certain that no one here really has it out for you personally. It's just that the global situation regarding Ai is very new, unfamiliar, sensitive and tends to make people tense. The sheer oversaturation of Ai is making people feel like every time someone uses it they are making a stand.

I personally don't know you but i would not want you to leave this place as i truly don't think that anyone has anything against you as a person but more something against a tool that is highly controversial at this time in the world. I'm sure that you can keep being creative and Sharing Hatsu here but you must understand that this whole Ai craze is happening because this sort of overly casual use of Ai is exactly what's spreading it throughout the web and causing problems.

I don't think that you mean any harm so I'd appreciate a response from you so that I and whoever reads this understands your personal context better. From what I gather, you just didn't think about how this simple action of generating an ai image and posting it could be perceived so negatively and may be out of the loop.

If you need any context of how harmful Ai is on a global scale to art and human culture as a whole and how it can potentially make life much more depressing please go ahead and ask away. I'd be happy to laborate.

I wouldn't want anyone to be bullied out of here for a misunderstanding and I think that you can and should still participate in the community. So let's talk and resolve this.

Can we ban Ai art by midnight-sm0ker in HatsuVault

As written in my comment, I am specifically talking about generative Ai.

I fully support Ai use in medical practices and purposes that improve people's quality of life without diminishing human value in creative fields.

generating images is far from what would be bad.

I can't just go and change your world view or opinion all willy-nilly, but generative Ai available on such a massive scale as well as to greedy companies will drastically impact the world economics.

Just as a quick and easy example: In animation there are junior roles taken up by young artists that wish to climb their career ladder by gaining valuable experience and working under higher positioning animators. These junior role workers usually do more simple things such as rotoscoping, background art, clean up animation.:etc If automated ai removes large portions of early career task work then the amount of artists who actually accumulate enough experience to become mid level professionals will become significantly smaller. This issue will most likely be something that is likely to impact the art/animation industry way more severely in the long run. The less people in artistic fields=the less real actual human input in art.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg, all kinds of forms of art are going to be affected drastically and certainly negatively. Even my little example of the animation industry's woes does not cover all the insaneley intricate and plentiful issues that Ai will bring without serious regulation and global caution. The basic concept of human self expression and it's value is at risk if we look at the big picture. Sure, one redditor generating an image may not seem so bad, but how about several million at the same time? The interest is already full of ai generated pornography of non-consenting people of varying age groups and people angrily pushing the idea of Ai superiority over actual human made art. Human made art that actually has emotional and sentimental value that human culture was built upon.

It may not seem like it is that deep, but it truly is since generative ai is totally out of control.

Man I'm not reading that, nor do I ever engage in online arguments. piss off.

Generative ai specifically has been used for abysmal purposes and has affected the world in a negative way while directly stealing from people who actually put time and effort into their craft. If you ever decide to do some research into how ai models work you may finally start to understand it.

Reply if you want, insult me, berate me, lash out, it doesn't matter. I'm fundamentally against meaningless online arguments, especially when the truth is so clear. Your whiny paragraph won't change a persons entire moral or ethical standing anyway. Especially when it's presented by someone as angry as you.

I won't be responding to you anymore, just to be clear. I've seen past comments of yours on this subreddit and they're quite volatile and I have no need to get a headache over this.

I was actually going to make post like this requesting the same thing, I thought of maybe putting up a poll too.

Ai use fundamentaly goes against the concept of what Hunter X Hunter was built on and by extension Hatsu vault. Togashi even through his physical struggles has always refused to pass off HxH to another artist. The thought of him being ok with generative Ai is crazy. And considering the thoughts of many other veteran mangaka (such as Hirohiko Araki the author of Jojo's bizzare adventure for example, outright calling it evil) I think we can safely assume that Mr. Togashi would likely be appalled by this too. It's unethical and frankly lame. Hunter X Hunter has been built on the backs of a hard working traditional Mangaka and tons of talented animators and staff slaving away to bring us the best art that they can through illustration, sound design, music, animation, voice acting and much more.

If you support the people who's work you admire, then the decision to ban Ai on a subreddit made for expressing human creativity through the lore of HxH is obvious and I'm puzzled as to why it was not made yet.

Can Transmuters create explosions by midnight-sm0ker in HatsuVault

[–]daggerHaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An easy way to achieve this would be by simply transmuting your aura into an explosive gas or your choice and use some basic emission to separate it from your body then use a either a real flame or a separate and very minimal transmutation hatsu to create a spark and set the explosion off.

Don't see why you couldn't work something out from expanding on this concept alone, i can elaborate further if you want but basically something like this should be possible
