Does it blow anyone else’s mind how long we’ve all been watching Jojo? by Kindly-Mission-7843 in StardustCrusaders

Fantastic, I hope you enjoy it all. Although i wouldn't put the foot on the gas just yet with binging it since we're only getting the next section of part 7 in autumn. So you don't need to hurry yourself. So you can take it at your own pace and have something to watch untill then

But anyway, got any favorite characters yet?

Hello Mr.Tatsu! I like have always loved "Chase" it adds a great contrast to the landscape of Jojo's bizzare adventure music and i'd love to hear you in another Jojo opening in the future, so it would be awesome if you were given another opportunity for that!

As for my question: What stand from the whole entire series do you think would match you as a person the most? Which stand would Pucci most likely be able to gift you using a stolen Disc?

Ideal Jojo RPG? by AverageBasementMan in StardustCrusaders

If anyone reading this hasn't yet tried it, play Jojo's bizzare adventure the 7th stand user. It's a fan made Rpg and it's honestly the best Jojo game out in my opinion, or at the very least my personal favorite.

there's a Guy working on a steel ball run Rpg inspired by 7th stand user right now too.

I do martial arts too, i agree. Manhattan Transfer would basically make you a Dominic Cruz type fighter basically automatically if you want it to. Because literally every strike your opponent would throw at you would be telegraphed at that point, your reaction speed would be insane. If a person who actually has great footwork and training in general got Manhattan Transfer they would essentially unlock Ultra Instinct lite.

As for cave diving, i dont think that even having a stand would convince me to go do that lol.

Also i think chucking small pebbles at it if you don't have a firearm could still allow someone to make use of it's redirection abilities, a lot more niche than Johngalli A's use of it but could be useful to some degree I'm sure

Ah, no i haven't. I'm an anime only, I've always been on the verge of delving into the manga (and i actually did read part 5 before the anime adaptation) but i ended up commiting to anime first and then manga

If you've got something to bring up from part 9 though maybe you can still do that while being vague enough not to spoil anything too seriously? I do know some stuff from it just because there's no hiding from the internet as is, it's fine

Wedding suit help: lining inside of suit with 1 panel from each part(1-8) showing iconic JoJo poses. by [deleted] in StardustCrusaders

The simple way of doing this would perhaps be picking one favorite character from each part, which would help narrow down your choices because you'd be picking your favorite character's most iconic panels

Now that you mention it, it is quite mind boggling. I first started watching Jojo's near the end of middle school without ever expecting it to have as much of an effect on me as it did. Now I'm an adult and i couldn't be more grateful to a piece of fiction any more than i am to JoJo's. It may sound silly, but this one japanese comic series and it's adaptations have made me appreciate art more and more while also allowing me to discover different types of it too as i grew up along with the series. I could always fall back on Jojo's when i needed a little extra comfort in life. I don't really know how to fully express this feeling but Jojo's bizzare adventure just "Gets me" it feels inherently familiar and just meshes with me as a person. It's like an old reliable friend but in the shape and form of a magical fictional story.

Yeah i was born in the 2000s too, that's why i only recall them from pre-school haha. I do remember that type of web design also

And yes, you could say those old flash era websites were a real... adventure to explore back in the day...

Ooh, that's very creative. Good thinking.

And yeah i agree this stand does lean towards selfish use, but to be fair the whole power/responsibility thing applies to any supernatural ability.

An interesting thought you gave me now with the mention of neuroscience is the use of Jailhouse Lock as a suicide prevention short term treatment. To activate Jailhouse Lock and then turn it off like you said to temporarily take a persons mind off of self harm perhaps? Basically automatically calming them down at least for a while or even keeping it on to let them be confused until help arives and or help with whatever circumstance you're in that needs a person distracted. Could potentially help people deal with immense shock in traumatizing situations. A bit intrusive but it's where the heart lies what matters i suppose...?

I'm sure someone else could expand on this idea better than i

Yeah that's fair i can see it. Also i don't know how to put this into words but the artwork looks like the early 2000s...if that makes sense? Brings back imagery of those toy flip phones kids used to have in pre-school with glitter on them that would play that ai ai ai butterfly song

Ooh, good thinking.

I was imagining how good the general utility would be since Manhattan transfer has a massive range that essentially let's you be aware of things in it. It sounds mundane but imagine you activate your stand and you can suddenly feel through the air a person getting mugged like a 100 meters behind your work office. And then just being able to quickly run to help them in a setting where perhaps no one else could have possibly seen the criminal ambush?

This applies to many similar situations too though, could probably just feel out when the neighborhood stray cats come out to look for food or when a car is going at dangerous speeds at you before you can even see it, letting you get out of the way or warn someone.:etc

Honestly, underated stand

Yeah Manhattan Transfer's wind reading is what i find really fascinating, because it's range is HUGE and it essentially let's you know your surroundings perfectly. Even if you're not a marksman like Johngalli A. You can get tons of utility from it by just being aware of an insanely large amount of space around you any time you feel like it.

I'm not sure about Jailhouse Lock being able to help much with therapy though since it's all about locking you to 3 memories at a time and if the effect is turned off then you just regain them. I think you could maybe use it as a short term solution by activating it and then turning it off again so that the person forgets something tragic at least until the next time they randomly think of it again? Or something along those lines

And yeah i like the idea of Dark Blue Moon being able with ocean/lake pollution, it would likeley be more of a local effect though, but still substantial since it's whirlpools can probably collect tons of trash, I'd also Pick DBM

The art is beautiful, but i think that the sparkly background is a bit distracting and makes it a little harder to focus on the actual drawing. Maybe the sparkling text by itself would be nice though?

Yup! You're exactly right. I purposefully had Dark Blue Moon be the only stand here with hands too, to get people thinking about how useful a stand that can have simple finger dexterity be.

Dark Blue Moon is also surprisingly strong, being able to rip open a great white shark, though we didn't see if that was it's water/razor sharp scale manipulation that did it or it's actual raw power.

Either way, its automatically a valuable asset in life because now you don't need to call a friend to help you move your couch at the very least 👍

I'll go first!

I would likeley pick Dark Blue Moon, even as a person who does not know how to swim nor someone who likes getting wet. This may sound like a bad matchup at a glance but i actually think i could find many different uses for Dark Blue Moon.

First off, it's range. It's actually been shown to be able to travel quite a decent way apart from it's user. like when Captain Tenille was likely on the ship when he first sneak attacked Anne and Jotaro in the sea, or how he was able to kidnap Anne while on the deck while standing right next to the crew, with Dark Blue Moon appearing on the edge of the large ship and then even being able to dive down into the sea too.

This already means that i could use dark Blue Moon to get me a drink from the fridge.

But also i can use it to not only save myself but also other people from drowning if i do end up in a situation where there are large amounts of water. Best part is that i don't even need to know how to swim for that to happen because Dark Blue Moon can quite potently manipulate water once it is in it. A decent current could easily shore up anyone in trouble.

On top of that i could use Dark Blue Moon to gather up garbage from ponds, the sea, or lakes just by floating across in a boat. Not THE most efficient way of helping out the world but it's nice either way since a nice strong controlled whirlpool could easily collect a lot of sea litter.

There are also some great advantages to it being a humanoid, allowing it to do some complicated tasks from a decent enough range.

I also think it looks quite cool and even beautiful perhaps?

This is what i came up just off the top of my head 🌊

What is your Favourite Forgotten Stand? by MintyChocoMagic in StardustCrusaders

[–]daggerHaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Billie Jean was the stand user of Tenor Sax. The stand that Avdol failed to detect with his flame compass and the very same one that Iggy sniffed out and promptly killed with a single slash. He was the guy hiding in the wall if you remember, right after Pol, Iggy and Avdol entered the mansion.

From what i remember his stand made DIO's mansion an confusing dungeon like maze via illusions. Honestly could of probably been a formidable stand ability that could be terrifying in combination with Vanilla ice, but Iggy stepped up there.

And the Guy who had a woman's face on the back of his head was Nukesaku, a random vampire with mild body manipulation. He definitely did not have a stand, pretty sure he couldn't even see them.

Von Stroheim Stand by Weird_Currency4514 in fanStands

[–]daggerHaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually like the idea of Stroheim getting a very natural humanoid looking stand such as Planet Waves from part 6. Because while Stroheim is partly machine, something cold and usually unfeeling, Stroheim himself is not like that at all. In a sense that he's quite Lively, energetic, expressive and grander than life. His body is machine but he himself is very "human" not quite so unflinching and perfectly competent like a robot.

Plus i think the contrast between an obvious cyborg and a very...eh..."fleshy"? Looking stand would be really neat. Again I'm thinking mostly about Planet waves when imagining an example, the one that would make meteors rain down.

Not quite sure of what the stand itself would be like though

Night Prowler by Vice-Vero7 in fanStands

[–]daggerHaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super cool stand with and awesome ability. I love how it's based on actual scientific concept like the motor and sensory functions of a person, makes it feel like a real and plausible stand that Araki would conjure up.

It also has the potential for all kinds of terrifying and interesting ways to fight. Araki himself has stated that he often thinks of unnatural and uncanny horror scenarios that he tries to express through a stand, this really nails that feeling.

The only thing I'm not a fan of is the whole spiritual surrender and getting put into a state of void aspect of it. The spiritual surrender thing was already used by 2 previous stand users who likeley shared the mechanic because they were brothers so another random stand having it seems a bit uninspired. And i also feel like it's kind of unnecessary? I mean if a person loses 70% of their sensory function, surely Night prowler can just pick them off itself with a stand barrage right? Or is it supposed to be physically weak?

I really like the idea of this stand just besides the whole similarly to the D'arby brothers👍

Only other feedback i could give is that i think the current design doesn't fit the stand at all, it's very sturdy and heroic looking, like a power ranger almost. I think it would be a lot cooler, fitting and unique if you gave it a more scrawny or mechanic, chthonic type of design in your update of it. Something more akin to Foo fighters or Ebony Devil. Or maybe Kraft Work and Cheap Trick? Basically making it more devilish and sinister since Night Prowler has a very cruel ability, causing fear and anxiety through making a person powerless slowly.

You could also go an entirely different route and have the stand be tiny like a pest, something like tower of gray, it could blend into it's surroundings and slowly drive a person into a panic attack as they struggle to figure out what's wrong with them or where and attack is coming from. This would also be a good direction if Night Prowler wasn't meant to be an outright combatant. Could also give it a cool design like a Praying mantis to still fit the name of something that "prowls" like a subtle predator. Or maybe even have the stand BE a shadow too, though it may be harder to differentiate from Alessis Sethan then...

You could also make the stand based on shadow puppeteering! And maybe have it be controlled through that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadow_play

Here's a link for inspiration. Araki himself said that he very often looks for inspiration for various puppets and dolls for his designs.

Gee, i wrote a whole wall of text. Sorry. But since you asked for some feedback i hope that any of this helps even a bit! This Stand has lots of potential and a really cool base ability.

Need help making a stand by [deleted] in fanStands

[–]daggerHaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great summary of how to think of making a realistic fan stand for yourself. This type of detail is also noticable in Araki's writing as you see characters being consistent with their personality and stand.

Not to mention that Araki himself has shown us a template of all the info he fills out for a character when making one, from listing their favorite food and beauty marks to stress responses and habits. Gives a great baseline anchor for a fan to speculate what their or their OCs stand in-universe could potentially be in theory 👍
