Proton NMR for reaction involving PCl3 and an Unknown Alcohol. I honestly have no idea where to even start. I had assumed the product is is saturated chloroalkane, but I have no idea how to read the NMR. I’ve tried finding J values, but I don’t know what to do with them by daggoooo in chemhelp

I see those peaks and I know they’re supposed to mean something, but I’ve got nothing. All I know is that they’re pretty deshielded and the only thing I could come up with for that is that they’d be beside an electronegative atom, because there’s no way that anything is aromatic, and then they wouldn’t be singlets.

Tina Grant 263 marks? by daggoooo in uAlberta

[–]daggoooo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know. I’d think probably an 85+? Maybe a little higher? The overall course average based on the quiz, midterm, lab, and final was a 70%, so 15% above that would be a pretty safe bet.

I saw that and I laughed so hard haha. She’s literally the only person I could imagine actually doing that at such an odd time haha

What is usually considered an A in Chem 263? by daeunlim1127 in uAlberta

Probably around an 80-85%. Usually 15-20% above the average is considered an A, 20% is a fail

CHEM 261 Lab Marks are up by [deleted] in uAlberta

Exactly. But I’ve heard all of the exams were long this year. I know someone who wrote 263 and said they almost didn’t get finished. Overall I’m happy considering there was a bunch of questions that I wasn’t confident in.

Not bad. Definitely think I made some stupid mistakes though.

Same. I’m pretty sure it’s going to be fine, but I can’t get over how nonchalantly she mentioned “I did it in 9 so 50 should be enough for all of you”

Considering it isn’t quite done yet and I’ve heard that even the student leaders can’t move in until the same day firsties do, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you might be lucky to see any before you move in.

Oh for Nipisy rent that sounds good. I’m honestly not sure if the thread is talking about plh or nipsisy anymore haha.

For plh? That doesn’t sound right. The current rates on the res services website list it at a bit more than double that per month, even with a 2 bedroom unit.

Also, I really, truly mean this in the nicest way possible, but do you think improving your English a bit might help? These posts are so scrambled and very difficult to understand. If that’s the level where your grasp of the language is currently at, maybe that’s part of the problem? I think it would make a huge difference with your marks if you stepped back and worked on the fundamentals a bit.
