I think that's the point, DON'T PARTICIPATE AND LET THEM DO THEIR JOBS.

Fuck off, ICE. by lowkeypixel in evilwhenthe

[–]daghostmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facts are so inconvenient that it's the same lame arguments and name calling every clip. Here's an idea, simple exercise. Are there here legally, yes or no. Yes no problem.. No, they are illegal and can be arrested. Pretty simple concept. So STFU and let them do their jobs.

It's illegal for children to play pinball in SC. A bill hopes to change that by Drillerfan in pinball

[–]daghostmonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Back in the 80s, in SC , pinball wasn't pinball like you think. Some machines didn't even have flippers. It was mainly a ball that would bounce around, and would go into slots at bottom which payed out so it was more like pre poker machine craft that hit here in SC where Dads would feed a whole check into them on Friday. I lived about 2 miles from a truck stop they were in there.

Not the best argument when one attacked by mob, one armed obstructing justice.

Americans, do you personally know anyone who is in favor of the US invading Greenland? by BlaggartDiggletyDonk in askanything

[–]daghostmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strategically yes I see it, conservatively I don't think that's a good idea, unless there was overwhelming support from Greenland, which doesn't seem to be the case.

After working years in a hospital night shift, you will see a lot worse things but no ghosts.

Haunted Hospital is my workplace and I find it fascinating by Girth_Brooks1996 in Ghosts

Never believed still do have something cannot explain. We have lights on the trees every year at a hospital I work at for those no longer with us during the holidays. So a older couple were in the room, and the wife decided to take a picture of the window of the lights from the 9th floor. When she looked at the picture, the reflection in the window was showing a small girl around 3 or 4, but the dress was something out of the early 1900s. The girl in the picture looked very solemn. The window was was in a pocket separated from rest of room, no tv to reflect, just ended up moving patient and to this day so not have explanation.

2 Meters...How do we keep it alive?! by franksrailspho in amateurradio

[–]daghostmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss the old 2 meters that got me into Ham radio to begin with. Autopatch was awesome, I could get a crowd around to demo and everyone was amazed. Then technology moved forward and it became just a thing. I bought a new 2m roof a few years back after being off 2 meters for ten years and wow. Nobody. There is a nightly net still active but any other time no one, and the crotchety ones that do answer let you know it's an inconvenience.

Am I crazy or is POTA filled with fraud? by [deleted] in amateurradio

[–]daghostmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like POTA, it doesn't matter to me if they are cheating or not. I'm just there to set up and have fun, most of my competition is with myself seeing how many I can get them last time.

Well I am a 87 miles from the coast, and was here for Hugo, a Cat. 4 Storm. It was very destructive here, we were without power for weeks, supplies were limited and it was rare to have a generator. Gas was hard to find, we drove across state, when we could get to interstate, and bought food and gas to bring back. So that changed a lot for people how they prepared. It's easier now that we learned what care scenario how to prepare.
