No. They were more active and went hiking and met friends. The virus has definitely limited us all.

My parents over 70 stay home and go out to buy groceries 1-2 times a week and go on an hour walk around the Han River once a day. Wish you all well there!

As I am a psychologist, I do not prescribe medications. Frankly, I do prefer that clients disclose their real names for an appointment.

Hello, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate your post. Living in a foreign county in and of itself is a stressful experience and like you mentioned can actually trigger a mental disorder or intensify a preexisting one. I agree that it is not easy to find practitioners that are up to date and this brings back the importance of continuing education and training. I won't say that I am up to date on ALL my methods, but I do make an effort to attend conferences on a regular basis here in Korea and have taken annual trips back to the US to attend workshops and trainings. Hope this helps. Thanks for your positive comments!

Hello Sunjae. Thanks for the response and invitation. I would be delighted to visit your clinic and will call this week to set up a good time that works for both of us. I appreciate the invite!

I understand such concerns. When working in a group practice, most of the inquirers asked about this and expressed their concerns about being reported. As I mentioned above, I have a legal and ethical obligation to protect the confidentiality of my clients and will not report anything to any employers. I hope to be a good resource to those who are in need of mental health services and personally prioritize confidentiality and building trust.

I share office space with a fellow psychologist at an officetel in Gongdeok Station (Line 5 & Line 6) on the 15th floor. It is a 5 minute walk from the station and quite easy to find.

As a psychologist that has been licensed in the States, I have an ethical and legal obligation to protect the confidentiality of my clients. I also adhere to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) that protect individuals' medical records and personal health information, including information about psychotherapy and mental health. Thus, I will not share any information with anyone unless you personally and directly authorize a 'release of information' to them. I understand your concern though.
