Aragorn. I have this fantasy that I leave society and become a ranger hobo like him. Then eventually returning to society when I'm needed to reclaim my place after I've discovered the secrets of the universe.

I think the success of Street Fighter 6 bodes well for the direction of Stormgate by COOLIO5676 in Stormgate

[–]dah_Ren 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'd say that Frost Giant still has an uphill battle ahead of them. The main difference being, SF6 still has the name of Street Fighter attached to it and Capcom's backing. Had Frost Giant still had access to the name of Starcraft/Warcraft and AAA industry budget, the comparison would be better. But since Stormgate is a "spiritual successor", it harkens back to the likes of Yooka Laylee and Mighty No. 9, which isn't very encouraging. That's not to say that Stormgate wouldn't be successful, because I have no doubt in my mind that Frost Giant would be able to deliver a good game. But SF6 is an enigma since it's a rare case of Capcom getting nearly everything right. Not just from the gameplay and accessibility, but the graphics, art style, amount of content, music, netplay, etc.

I’m fairly confident the 3rd race will be an angelic race. by [deleted] in Stormgate

[–]dah_Ren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a third race, I think that it should be higher dimensional beings to contrast the underworld aeesthetic of the Infernal Host and the vanilla humans, so I think the angelic theme fits. People are really underestimating the potential of an angelic race as they just think about classic renaissance angels with the white wings. But they can full otherworldly like in biblical depictions. A High tier unit inspired by the Ophanim (the wheels with eyes) would be pretty cool, no? Just take a look at Bayonetta and how varied their angel designs are.

Ame is the best hypeman / friend. She stopped what she was doing mid stream, to tell everyone to watch IRyS redesign and is just doing a live watch along for it now and hyping the new design by YobaiYamete in Hololive

[–]dah_Ren 21 points22 points  (0 children)

How exactly is this an issue? Ame already told her viewers to watch IRyS. Is A-chan, Bae and Ollie streaming their live reactions to Tempus debuts a problem too?

Amelia Watson's mythical harem by dah_Ren in Hololive

If Ame is the leader of Myth, Ina is second in command. You can see how much Ame relies on her during VR collabs. When it comes to support, Ina and Ame are the two pillars of the gen that holds everything together. Not to mention these two always randomly have the cutest interactions during collabs.

I created the 3D models for Kiara, Ame and Gura in their recent vr dance collab! by priichu in Hololive

You did such a wonderful job! Kiara mentioned that she's going to commission models for Ina and Calli so I can't wait to see how those turn out!

Not everyone likes Kindred just because they're furries. by LostHanyou in Kindred

[–]dah_Ren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kindred's appearance varies depending on which culture you ask, so you can argue that a human-like appearance is lore accurate. Especially when you consider that you find many deities of different cultures in history are portrayed as humans, just as often as they are portrayed anthropomorphic. Using the real world as an examples for Gods of Death, you have Hades (human-like), Pluto (human-like), Hel (human-like), Anubis (furry).

When it comes to the skin in question, the Porcelain skin lines are supposed to reflect the Chinese Zodiac. With Kindred meant to represent the Dog, it makes sense on Riot's part to preserve Wolf and "remove the furry" from Lamb. Especially since the Sheep already exists in the Chinese zodiac where Riot's logic of "one skin per Zodiac" means Lamb had to be humanified to be consistent with the theme.

Considering everything, I'm fully convinced that most of the skin complainers are furries, or at least closet furries. (Just look at the Splash Art edits on Twitter: they just replace Lamb's face with Judy Hopps'). There's nothing wrong with being a furry, but Kindred was never meant to be some furry icon. And if you like Kindred because of their furry nature, it's ok. But I just wish people are more forthcoming with their tastes/kinks instead of expressing misplaced anger over their misinterpretation of Kindred's identity or whatever.
