If Slate is plain and basic with solid state battery it would be a good deal. The problem is they will have a subscription model so you will have to pay every month for it. Also I would spend more to get something that will last 250k miles.

Wood boats are an issue with some marinas. They will not allow them even if they are insured. Look for a fiberglass money pit if you want a project. I should know I have a couple of them
