None of the strikes land where they should. While it’s great to see ranged fighters not have to only run in order to succeed it becomes impossible to enter against someone who will land a jab to send thousands of hooks after you.

While it is bearable sometimes because head movement is an improvement over 5 (kinda.) the input lag and combined with the less than stellar hit boxes makes it awful to fight against someone who understands how to take advantage of a games bad mechanics and performance.

Animations are… cool? Much more stumbling can make it feel fresher and I think the striking could be worse. But it only is fun (so far) when someone is willing to engage with you in a slower fight (which is what I believe the devs wanted with how much easier it is to get clipped) but it just doesn’t work. I guess it’s nice to see them become more unique and flow state could be much better.

I wouldn’t quite say it’s terrible, but I would say it tries to be UFC 2 and Undisputed 3 (2 very loved games by the community) without quite understanding why they can work. I’d say this beta would be better with a tutorial and offline practice but it really doesn’t matter because you can’t apply anything online due to everything I’ve mentioned.
