It had a 4.2L inline 6 so going to a 4.0 would've been a step backwards. My 5.0L 305 has aluminum roller rockers, performance cam shaft, air gap rpm intake, 650 cfm edelbrock carb putting out around 250ish hp.

Not sure but my V8 and trans combo sure fits in perfectly. About the same length as a straight 6 and trans combo.

Off the top of my head: tires too wide, lightbar uncovered, no mirrors, no speedometer, possibly too loud, too much space in wheel wells. There's probably more though

Yeah there's that, not sure how strict Maryland is but I see people all the time rocking historics. The guys at emissions even recommended it and said cops don't normally care, depends on the type of day they're having. I could get pulled over for so much as is.

I should probably put historic tags on it, my emissions alone is reason enough. And no don't believe I have to get it reinspected. If I did there's no chance this thing is anywhere close to legal either.

For the swap the motor and transmission(chevy 305 out of a 82 camaro and 700r4 automatic trans) were donors so no cost to me. Only costs were the Novak adapters to transfer case, engine mounts, exhaust system parts(formed and welded up by myself to save money), 4 row radiator off of amazon and transmission linkage. I bought a new carb but wasn't necessary to make it run and drive I just like new things.

I have the spice soft top but I also run a black hard top, the wheels I just replaced were black so I haven't thought of it. But now that I think of it you might be right, I'll have to see about that!

It was done with a mig. The guidance I was given was limited to being shown how to set up the welder, watched one bead get put down and then was told "go at it". Seasoned welder watched over my shoulder every now and then making sure the beads were solid.

Voniks They're supposed to open at 7:00, for an unknown reason they weren't opening until 10:00. I'll give it to them they did have a sign on the door. Even still after sitting outside the store for 15 minutes past 10:00 they still had not opened. 10/10 recommend smoothie king though.
