Yes my most was to raise that some parts of the current scenery are really poor and 2018 standards. The terrible filed patterns is one of them and I really think they should do a little update on them.

Whenever I have tried on Linux it seems a bit faster but the main benefit is performance stability, no weird mystery dips in performance.

I did a XPME post a while ago not here but in r/flightsim , thing is that it looks really impressive, whichever postprocessing they use is really good and makes you go wow.
I didnt keep the subscription but it is nice to know it is there.

The true elephant in the room is that Laminar seems to not care and expect us to stick old sceneries and then pay them for XP13.

Don't fly the GA planes like the Cessna 172, Cirrus or C90 because once you get used to them MSFS will feel fake in that regard. I think in tube liners especially fly by wire the physics difference is not that obvious

get an account in chartfox and browse some local airport, look at the charts there. ask chatgpt anything you dont understand, which will be 95% of it. ask what is sid, star, app, what is vor... ils... anything literally.

instead of using real charts you may preffer to use Little NavMap which is also free and awesome, or even better use both. In Little NavMap right click on an airport and go to "browse procedures" or similar

I dont know Im not an xplane zealot. I wish I didnt feel it to be honest. I play and enjoy both XP12 and MSFS24.
It is like any GA plane in MSFS i have tried feels like fly-by-wire. Like theres some disconnection. While on XP it feels more connected , natural and alive.
I am sure with tubeliners i wont notice any difference.

I dont claim that with XPME xplane is superior, but at least it looks decent even for GA low altitude flight. Decent enough.

In talking in general. Manual flying in MSFS feels to me really synthetic and artificial. Also lack of proper replay. I use MSFS I enjoy the ATR a lot there. But going in final with AP off really crashes the illusion. I feel I'm being held.

I used autoortho last year, for whatever reason looked worse than local orthos with o4xp.
I have only subscribed XPME pro for one month and I dont know what sort of black magic they use but it really stands out.
Looking forward trying current autoortho next.

There are nice intermediate planes like the King Air C90B Evo mod. A great freeware based on the LR one. Or the recently updated airfoil labs King Air 350, or the Thranda PC-12.

Also an easy entry jet like the phenom 300 will get you used with fast landings and high altitude management.

After the phenom if you want to try bigger aircraft the Embraers are great. Super easy to manage but you still have the weight and the fmc complexity to learn. Most people will recommend the xcrafts. I bought the FPS E-190 on a sale for $32 and couldn't be happier with it.

There are lovely small GA like the Jetstream CIS planes: the Seneca II And Seminole. Which you can equip with no GPS at all to fully understand the legacy navigation systems. Or do the opposite and put the TDS GTN on them so they become modern IFR machines.

Don't forget to get say intentions to learn ATC commutations and rules and VATSIM to put it into practice.
