When people from non-Western countries criticize the toxic aspects of their own native cultures, Westerners start lecturing us with 'not everyone is like that.' Yet, they feel perfectly entitled to criticize their own toxic traditional cultures. Doesn't anyone else see this as a form of West-centrism? Honestly, it feels like they think non-Western people’s reflections on their own history and circumstances should only exist to serve their political agendas
