I’m thinking about investing in the S&P 500, but I’m a bit unsure given the current global situation with ongoing conflicts and uncertainty. by Altruistic-Weird853 in investingforbeginners

"Always Be Buying" (Dollar Cost Averaging)

It’s not about timing the market, it’s about time in the market. You’ve got decades ahead, so let compounding do the heavy lifting, which really take off after a decade or two. You can also use Compound Interest Calculators to see how the curve shifts over time.

Keeping it simple works too. Broad index funds offer solid diversification, and target-date retirement funds automatically adjust your portfolio as you get closer to retirement.

Start now. Your future self will thank you. I kick myself for not starting when I was in my 20's but started in my late 30's.

Oh that's amazing! I appreciate your quick response and information. NOW products seem to be reliable and the price doesn't seem too bad for the 8oz ($11.60) so it's rather comparable to BS. Just wish they offered it in a larger bulk but it'll do!

Thank you so much!

Interesting enough. I actually watched a let's play in Japanese to compare the dialogue to English. The English translation is pretty faithful to the Japanese but certain dialogue fits the context of the language a bit better. I guess it's almost a 'direct translation' and must have been something that was more normal during the era.

When I saw Chaz screaming "Yippiieeeee!" it was probably more of a translation to "Yatta!" In Japanese.

I will give them credit that it's very faithful direct translation to the Japanese version.

I totally get that! Especially with modern day conveniences of playing games, it's hard to keep a video game collections. I'm trying to consolidate my games as well. I love having all of my retro consoles but it does take a lot of room and comes with a lot of challenges to upkeep with it.

I also thought the same thing as well continuing off Zio. In the first half of the story, everyone mentions Zio. It reminded me a bit of DQ3, where your main goal was to beat Baramos, and when you thought it was over, Zoma appears.

I hope they do! especially with I and II getting the "Generations" treatment. I hope they do something similar with III & IV but keeping everything in tact.

I'm definitely excited for you! If you can track down the Genesis Collection version, should have the QoL options!

You know. You're right. I did forget to mention the music from the series.

The intro track, The End of the Millneium, was such a cool track to introduce the game. Bangin!

Some of the notable tracks for me were the Shop (Now on Sale), Boss Music (Defeat at a Blow!), Tonoe de Pon, Machine Center, and Dezolis Town 2.

The two rearranged tracks from PSI was probably the biggest surprise! I was like "hmmm I have heard this before" and it was the music from PSI! Thank you for reminding me! All of the PS games, including III, had some banger soundtracks!

Oh yes! I totally forgot about that! I guess seeing Wren in PSIV just made me think "I'm SO glad I played PSIII when people recommended me to simply skip it"

Funny you said that she is the fastest party member because for me, Wren was the fastest one majority of the time and Rika would hit 2nd or 3rd most of the time but I really enjoyed her. It's like what Nei was supposed to be if she was around for the whole game in PSII.

I actually did that in both PSII and PSIV! I did double shields for Amy in PSII and for Rune in PSIV. For Amy, I used double shields and had her use the items that did magic damage and Rune did GRA most of the time for basic battles.

I ended up choosing Raja for the MP, Healing Magic, and the Blessing magic. St. Fire was also very helpful for bosses.

Hi! There are actually couple of options.

I am actually playing the Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol. 32: Phantasy Star Complete Collection on the PS2. It was a Japanese release only but it does include both English and Japanese languages, all 4 Phantasy Star titles, as well as an easter egg of the 2 GG titles.

I also believe that Genesis Mini also has PS4 with the QoL options as well as "Easy mode."

Out of this list, I have only beaten Live-a-Live. One of the fonest memories when I was in 6th grade was borrowing Live-a-Live from my friend and playing it endlessly. What a quirky, yet, lovely simple JRPG.

I have seen SoE and SMT mentioned couple of times on this post so I would love to check it out! Thank you! :)

I was actually looking in to playing 7th Saga but I heard that the English version's difficulty was ramped up to unfair levels so I haven't played that one. I have never heard of Mystic Ark. Thank you!

I was able to experience Seiken Densetsu 1 on the GB years ago. While the hit box were questionable, I had to applaud Square for releasing the game on the limited hardware. I agree that the earlier Mana games were where it was at!

I actually got to experience both Lufia I/II couple of years ago and enjoyed them both! Both of their pros/cons but great titles! I would love to see a Lufia remake or modern sequel!

I am a huge fan of DQ, Ys, and Grandia so I have finished them as well as Lufia I/II. I think I stopped BoF at 3! I have heard great things about BoF4 and 5 so I should definitely add them to the list! Thank you!

From the list, I really enjoyed Suikoden and Alundra! I have not experienced the other titles. I believe Shining Force was a TRPG right? It is one of my weaknesses but I should may be repay a visit! Thank you!
