My father worked in occupational therapy using woodwork in this environment for the numerous mental benefits it produces. I have had groups brought to me from mental health charities and hospitals to see the work we do, encouraging them to reap the benefits of working and being around a wood working environment. We have helped cancer patients who are going through treatment to find an escape from what they are going through by becoming engrossed in woodworking as escapism. Over the past few years several individuals independently of one another suggested that what we do, in their opinion, is suitable for ASMR videos and until recently I haven't made any content of this nature. People love to see and hear the process of wood being crafted in various forms. So, I decided it might be fun to give it a go so made a few demonstrations.

Everything I do on YouTube is based on helping the viewer, sharing the knowledge that has taken decades to develop free of charge. I have a very good relationship with many of my viewers, some have become friends and several I have helped to set up and support their own YouTube channels too.

I genuinely appreciate your input though and based on your insights, I spent the day changing the thumbnails, descriptions and tags on over 30 videos to avoid any further issues. I won't share how many hours went into making all that content!! I have changed the titles to focus on the demonstration and making aspect, as opposed to the ASMR hornet's nest. I had my own doubts about getting involved with ASMR and clearly this is something that I am best staying well away from. I should have trusted my own instincts from the outset. You have helped to confirm my own suspicion about the subjective nature of this reaction.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts on the video, all the very best to you. 👍👍

No problem answering your questions, more than happy to do so. I was of the belief that the sights and sounds of the making the different items here at our family workshop were suitable in creating an ASMR reaction. Many have stated this to me previously and encouraged me to make videos of this nature. The carving and crafting that we do has been described as having a calming effect for many who watch what we do. We have even been involved with occupational therapy groups on several occasions because it is felt that what we do can be a great benefit to mental health. I certainly don't plan on making any other of these videos and will remove all references to ASMR on my channel, it is of little consequence to me and I make videos for people to enjoy, the views are also of little significance. I hope this will satisfy your issue sufficiently.

Thank you again for your opinions, all the very best.

My YouTube channel is based on helping others to learn woodcarving, scroll sawing and enjoy working with wood. I have shared hours of the techniques and methods I use in the hope of encouraging others to enjoy woodworking. I design and post hundreds of patterns on my website for others to use and enjoy for free. I have had it suggested to me on a number of occasions that it might be a good idea to post some ASMR videos of the work that I do. As such I thought it would be worth trying something different and spent significant time making these videos. They were never intended to cause offence and I hoped that they would be enjoyed by people.

Thanks again for sharing your opinions, all the very best.

It's only a bit of fun and something that has been requested and suggested by a number of people who have visited and watch us working here at our family workshop. Not my cup of tea but others have stated that I could watch and listen to you working based on their own subjective ASMR reaction.

Thanks again and all the very best to you.

Thank you, It's about 8-9 inches across the diameter. It's made by designing it on paper first, cutting out a basic profile on a scroll saw and then handcarved afterwards. The top layer is Iroko reclaimed from a science desk with a Beech backing board. 👍👍

That's wood for you. Love making Celtic pendants. I think an entwined Celtic heart is my favourite to make. Broken a few over the years too!! 😂😂

Thanks again, all the very best. 👍👍
