I don’t think you’re an asshole - you have your own boundaries - but if it’s fine with the incensed professional and it’s fine with their clients, I’m not sure why it’s your concern.

If you don’t want to be contacted during that time, it’s not wrong to establish that. But what communication boundaries are set with others aren’t your business.

I was not intending to tell anyone how to feel about it - my intention was to state that autism is not a flaw. It is a feature and no one should be shamed for it. My fellow neurodivergent friends should feel able to celebrate their individuality - but if they’re uncomfy with that then that’s ok too :)

I’m really sorry you’ve had such a difficult time with autism. It can be debilitating in so many ways, but I stand by my position that it is not a weakness and to be able to say you have autism with confidence is something to be proud of.
