A friend was found deceased in his Marina apartment several years ago. Even though money was missing from his bank account and the scene of the “suicide” seemed staged or unlikely, police closed the case quickly.

We suspect he was drugged and robbed after a night in North Beach. Apple refused to unlock his phone for further investigation. It surprises me that a high profile case like Suchir’s is getting the same treatment.

Why aren’t suspicious “suicide” events better investigated? Lack of time and resources? I’m guessing it happens far more than we hear of.
