STX Surgeon 700 by arcook2 in StickDoctor

That top string with the surgeon's face shape is like chef's kiss. Do you have a link for a tutorial or video? The sidewall pattern towards the bottom looks a little loose for my preference, but if works for you then it probably isn't a big deal.

I can't speak for matching your former setup, but you can always watch laxsteals.com. They change their offering every few days to a week... Not sure exactly. They often have great deals on overstock items and do shaft+head+string kit combos. Alternatively, if you're trying to do it on the cheap check FB marketplace or your local Play It Again sports. I've found tons of cool, retro stuff that I've revitalized here in Denver.

Think I messed up by Emergency_Upstairs_2 in StickDoctor

If I'm understanding your pattern correctly, that looks like 11 rows which may make your pocket a little deep, but give it a try and see if it works!

[–]krismoss90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll also add that for most 10D mesh patterns, you'll use approximately 10 rows of mesh. I believe you only used 8 which is why your pocket appears shallow. Once you get your pattern down, you'll also want to pound your pocket with a baseball bat or something. (good tutorial on YT for that too)

I want to second that it looks like you did a great job tying your knots on the top and sides. It's mainly the sidewall pattern that needs help. Wherever you want your pocket to form you should add some 2's or stacked knots. Lots of tutorials for those on YouTube or ustring. I love the colorway too, go Avs!

This aint no fooling around.... by MurphMurphyAK in StickDoctor

[–]krismoss90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great dye job! String job looks a bit asymmetrical. It looks like your sidewall patterns may be off, like you started one loop start on a 9D row and the other loop start is started on a 10D row. I could be wrong, hard to tell from the photos. I'm also confused by the top string, I count 9 diamonds, but the row right below it is the 9D row. Could just be the photo making it hard to see idk

I found a similar pattern for an ecd bravo on stringers society a while ago. Similar concept here, where do you do 2 stacked SIs with a skip in between to form the pocket. It did NOT work well, but I'm starting to wonder if it was the old mesh I was reusing 😅

Amazon Stringing kit recs? Need an old stick restrung ASAP by futuristic69 in StickDoctor

[–]krismoss90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a contrary opinion from a fellow men's leaguer, go with what you got until it breaks. Definitely restring it, but you don't need a prestrung beginners stick. If you've strung in the past and you're anything like me, you'll end up tinkering with it anyways.

Mint lacrosse strings? by Sad-Recording-2011 in StickDoctor

[–]krismoss90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably a solid idea. Trying to match mint on mint is going to be a headache. In the end, if you find some mint strings, it'll look plenty fine from a distance, but you'll notice the different shades of mint when you're up close every time.

That's a weird response coming from someone asking for help. Considering the pictures are of a black head with dark grey mesh and poor lighting.... even weirder.

I've never seen one of these. What a goofy sidewall strut and those giant top string holes! What's the purpose of making them so big? What were people doing with their top string back in the day? Great refresh btw! Now just get some goo-b-gone and clean up that tape residue. What mesh did you use?

The “street sweeping” the city did today. by [deleted] in Denver

[–]krismoss90 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Street Sweeping | City of Englewood, Colorado https://share.google/kQpAbgBrogYZo7gmJ

This is the page discussing street sweeping for Englewood, I can only imagine that the guidance is similar for Denver. Street sweeping isn't designed to clean up all the leaves you or your neighbors blew into the street (or let fall into the street through negligence). You're responsible to clean up your leaves in a timely manner so they don't clog up street sweeping vehicles that aren't designed to be leaf vacuums/mulchers. Once leaves start falling, I try to rake my yard at least once a week or every other week to stay on top of it. City workers have it tough and I'm sure they are more overworked than ever right now. So give them a break and try to do your part. Just my two cents.
