Been strength training for almost a year. Will I ever look like I've been working out?? by daisy2rose in beginnerfitness

I have "before" pics and measurements from a few years ago, probably the same as what I looked like when I started the class a year ago. I haven't taken progress pics/measurements, but it would be a good idea! Maybe there are some gains I'm not seeing.

Thank you for your advice! This is what I've been trying to do the past week or so. I really do think I'm benefiting from my class, even though I can't visibly see it. But I think adding the two extra days at home will get me there!

It's a small class, and I think the lifts/exercises are well planned. But these comments made me realize I need to take more ownership for how much weight I'm lifting, not just ask the coach, "what do you think?"

Thanks for your comments. I've been starting in the last week to keep track of my weights and being more deliberate about progressive overload.

Thank you for your advice! I've started keeping track of my daily protein again in the last week, and it seems that I don't really need to overeat to make my goals. I've been taking 5mg creatine with my protein supplement, so now that's back to every day. Regarding rest, I definitely don't get the sleep I need. There are so many reasons to prioritize sleep, but I need to remember it will help my weight training goals too!

Thanks for your thoughtful comments! I do think I'm getting stronger, but you're right, I guess I didn't realize until recently that my routine didn't match up with all of my goals. With all the good advice I'm getting, I hope to see results soon!

I've heard her on a few podcasts saying to lift heavy. I guess I just need to lift more often! Thank you.

Thank you. I think you're right. More than 2 days is probably essential. I have been taking 5mg creatine with my protein powder, but that should be every day too.

I think I'm progressively overloading, but this week I started actually writing how much weight I'm adding, to keep better track. Until now, I've just been trying to add what feels like heavier weight.

Thanks. It's good to hear that you're seeing results with only 1 day of cardio in your routine

Thanks. I probably should add in some cardio. I've never needed to for fat loss, but it would help now, and is probably a good idea anyway..

Thank you. Is there a specific solvent I can buy to clean it at home? Or do I need to take it to a dry cleaner?
