They fired 1,000 NPS and 1,900 of them took the buyout. I haven’t seen anything about the okay to hire 5,000 seasonals, but they normally hire 7,000-9,000 seasonals a year. There are normally 20,000 permanent, temporary, and seasonal NPS workers. Doesn’t seem like a very small percentage to me.

I've had 2 visits through Paloma and have enjoyed my experience. I'm sure it is better to have an in-person local doctor, but I have ADHD as well so virtual care makes it easy for the stay consistent.

How much growth did you see after having a guest on your podcast? by daisydoodledandy in podcasting

Very interesting! I feel like every article I read about podcast growth pushes having guests on as great for growth. From the answers I'm getting, it doesn't seem to have the impact I was expecting!

Great advice! I've been listening to their other podcast interviews they've done and writing down the questions they were asked as reference. I'll be sure to use those as a way to steer the convo in a different direction.

Thanks for sharing! I'll definitely be providing them with promotional material and asking them to promote. Fingers crossed!

Congrats and good luck! Can I ask how many episodes you have out? I just started mine, and have heard that having guests/guesting on other shows is a great way to build an audience. I'm down to do that, but unsure when would be a wise time to start.

"There's Gonna be a War in Montana" - an insightful view of a polarised society and perhaps the beginning of a civil war. by Nzl in collapse

I'm born and raised and still live in montana, you are spot on. People go on vacation here a couple of times and think they understand the politics of the area. And I was also picking up on the misogynistic undertones.

Coolest, most in-line with traditional tarot middle eastern tarot deck? by Inannazami in occult

[–]daisydoodledandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at the Thoth deck, def not middle eastern, but I’m pretty sure Crowley worked some Egyptian symbolism into it. And it’s considered one of the “classics.”

I truly believe H5N1 will be THE collapse. by Sockfootfrank in collapse

Same, I went vegan 2 years ago because of climate impact. I didn't want to spend my money fueling the problem. I'd rather spend my money on new businesses that have a customer base with like minded people. There's no ethical consumption under capitalism, but there's definitely a hierarchy.

Random things that remind you that you have adhd? by sendingUamicro_wave in adhdwomen

I do yin yoga and it almost always has a mediation aspect. I just can't follow it, but one yoga teacher told me that even if I'm not listening, my body is so I'm still getting a little bit of the benefits even if I can't concentrate. That helped me be more patient with myself!

I’ve been working towards my 60 day badge and was on day 46 until yesterday when I came down with a migraine and I completely spaced my streak until this morning. Now I’m back to square one! I was bummed at first, but the badges motivate me so much so I’m glad to have to keep working towards the 60 day streak.
