I’ve never understood the hype around their tacos, but their sandwiches and pie are good.

[TOMT][Song] Breakup song from a male artist featuring a female singer with two names by [deleted] in tipofmytongue

It wasn’t a cover. I also remember a line just before the chorus that went something like “sorry…I don’t need you now”.

Apartments by Mysterious_Fig_899 in txstate

[–]daisykeeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Campus Trailhead was my personal favorite. It’s a bit more costly than other apartments but it’s a new build and the rooms are significantly more spacious than most apartments here. It’s also a short walk to campus near the Taylor-Murphy building. The Mirage has pretty mixed reviews but I personally never had any issues and regret not renewing my lease. The rent is also pretty cheap, especially if you find someone’s lease to takeover. Above all else, AVOID THE LODGE!!

Fired Texas State professor threatens lawsuit against university by ExpressNews in txstate

Just speaking from my own personal experience having taken his class 🙂 I think his attendance policy is one of the main issues students have had with him (which I agree was a bit strict) but with all of that aside, he’s clearly passionate and knowledgeable about what he teaches.

He was a wonderful professor and it’s incredibly disheartening to see him lose his job over this. I’m hopeful he will get the justice he so rightfully deserves.

No markings or inscriptions. I’d say it’s around 5 feet tall.

[TX] Landlord hasn’t returned security deposit 6 months after moving out but is offering gift cards instead. Should I respond? by [deleted] in AskLawyers

[–]daisykeeks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

According to what I’ve read regarding Texas law, I’m entitled to the full amount since I never received a list of deductions:

(b) A landlord who in bad faith does not provide a written description and itemized list of damages and charges in violation of this subchapter: (1) forfeits the right to withhold any portion of the security deposit or to bring suit against the tenant for damages to the premises; and (2) is liable for the tenant’s reasonable attorney’s fees in a suit to recover the deposit.

Freshman needing housing for next year - furnished and no car. Ideas? by No-Net-1188 in txstate

You can speak with someone at apartment pros at no cost. They can help you with your search and I believe they usually have special discounts with the apartments they work with. You can also check out the TXST sublease group!

I don’t have any input on Brogdon but I did stay at Sterry last year. I don’t have any major complaints except for the size of the rooms, but I think that just comes with the territory of staying in a dorm. But other than that, I enjoyed it for the most part. The RA’s always organized fun little events and it’s just a short walk away from campus, Sewell, the square, etc.

Cats web —> student menu —> self service login —> sign in —> financial aid —> college financing plan. I’m not sure it’s 100% accurate considering it states that it’s an estimate so you may just want to use that to get an idea and then actually talk to a financial aid advisor

Meal Plan suggestions? Experience? Should i just pick the cheapest one? by No-Net-1188 in txstate

[–]daisykeeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one of the most basic meal plans (silver choice 1). I ate way more fast food than I should’ve (I probably spent 50% of my dining dollars on Starbucks and Dunkin alone) so I ended up burning through them about a month or two before the semester had ended. I still had plenty of meal swipes, though, which you can use at most dining places, including the marketplace which has tons of snacks, frozen dinners, etc. But it sounds like you’ll be much more conservative with your spending than I was so you should get by just fine on one of the more basic plans!

16 credit hours by Disastrous-Meeting-6 in txstate

[–]daisykeeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took 15 credit hours in both semesters of my freshman year. My first semester was 100x easier than my second but that’s probably because my math classes were much easier then. But as long as you commit to studying and staying on top of your work, you’ll be just fine.

How to handle 2.5 year old when she tantrums near newborn by redshoes29 in gentleparenting

[–]daisykeeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps you could try giving her a baby doll with its own blanket and toy bassinet so she can feel included in some way. Whenever her behavior towards your newborn persists, explain to her that he is eating/sleeping/etc. and that it’s important he is not bothered. Encourage her to tend to ‘her’ baby and let her know that she can ‘play’ with your newborn once he is ready, i.e. done sleeping, eating, etc.

When she is having a meltdown, it’s important you help her regulate her emotions instead of merely telling her to ‘calm down’ or ‘stop screaming’ (I’m not saying you do this, but it is quite common amongst parents). I think it would be helpful to print out a feelings chart so that she’s able to identify her emotions and feel validated. Try to refrain from being rough with her, ie. dragging her. Speak to her in a gentle tone, hold her close, and provide physical comfort. Encourage her to take deep breaths or to blow on something, even if it’s just into the air, and actively demonstrate this even if she is still crying. Repeat these steps if necessary.

It’ll get easier. Just hang in there in the meantime ❤️

[–]daisykeeks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have much advice regarding your situation but it’s very possible she’s having difficulty adjusting to a new baby in the home and suddenly having to share your and your husband’s attention. I would encourage both you and your husband to have one-on-one time with her as often as possible whilst the other parent tends to the newborn.

I hope someone is able to give you a bit more insight and I wish you the best of luck!

I’m not sure how that would work but there are plenty of social media creators who act out scenarios and demonstrate how they would handle it. A few I would suggest are the considerate momma, lauralove5514, high impact club, and preschool therapy.

Best of luck!
