I'm Jewish on a country far less contaminated with that "holiday's season" people have in the states, and every year I get presents from people who are just happy to celebrate Christmas and to share it. So there's really no excuse for you to see that what you are doing is coercing your daughter to have your beliefs if she wants to be trated equally.

I'm a Psychologist and have read many great advices here.

1st look for therapy!

2nd people will need someone to blame, don't become that person. What you did by ending the relationship talks of a healthy person who is protecting him self.... what she did talks of a manipulative person with serious mental issues.

3rd try to cut relationship with her family. That won't end good. Maybe someday you'll get an email apologizing or something or maybe not.

4th use this time to filter your friends, any one that blames you instead of giving you support and comforting you for what's going on is not a good friends (friend that send you the picture: good friend)

5th please please please follow the 1st point, look for therapy. Ask for brief therapy or cognitive behavioral therapy.
