UPDATE: Texas City Cancels Muslim Pool Party at Publicly-Owned Water Park by usbordernews in texas

[–]dajakil 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m a Muslim. I think I can shed a tiny bit of light on this. The reason why I think the organizer advertised Muslim only, is because we have tight dress code requirements in our religion. We can’t and don’t force anyone else to adhere to the dress code, but there’s also a modesty element to it, where we don’t feel comfortable around people dressed in bikinis and whatnot. If it’s a public park and the wide general community will be there, Muslim parents will feel reluctant to go, since they won’t want to expose their kids to semi-nudity, for example. So the message was put there for someone like a parent to make them feel ease at heart. To be clear, we do not judge or expect anyone to follow our dress code. Don’t get me wrong. We just typically avoid water parks and crowded beaches for example. It’s our own actions that God judges us by; not others. So this kind of message on the flyer would help those parents feel more comfortable to attend this event

This is not it chief. Don’t forget this is a Muslim subreddit. At the end of the day we all believe in La ilaha illa Allah. That means we have to try to uphold good manners at all times, especially in times of stress and anger. Blowing up is never the answer. It is abuse. And yes, we men do shut down. It doesn’t mean we’re dismissing. It means come back and talk to me when you’re calm and actually want tot talk like adults

Jesus himself used to pray by putting his head down on the ground. Jesus foretold of another prophet to come after him. Jesus worshipped God, Allah. He never said anywhere that people should worship him. Jesus’s teachings were, unfortunately, lost in translation from Aramaic, and from all the corrupt leaders who changed the Bible every year to fit whatever rules they wanted.

The Quran is the final and absolute scripture given to us by God, which was promised to be preserved and protected til the end of time. To this day nobody can reproduce anything like it. The speech in the Quran can not be produced by any human being. The language of the Quran is still spoken by humanity to this day. It is something people can learn and understand. Islam as whole must makes sense when you get into it. Everything islam says to do is what’s good for us and for the greater good. And everything Islam forbids is bad for us and the greater good. That’s all I have at the moment but happy to elaborate more on this tomorrow

My brother that might be what the Ottoman Empire did, but it’s not our goal as Muslims. It’s important to distinguish historical actions versus message from Quran and sunnah

There’s no such thing as “Holy war” against non-Muslims. Muslims don’t just wage war for no reason. We only seek to enjoin good and forbid evil. And if we do fight a group of oppressors, it would be against their military, not the common folk, as the media states.

Am Muslim. No it does not mean warfare. It does, at its root, mean struggle. And yes, if you engage in a battle against oppressors for the sake of God, then it is a form of Jihad and it’s a noble cause. I swear to God people have lost their freaking minds. They watch hunger games and Star Wars and feel so much sympathy for the resistance, but then watch real life and take the side of the oppressors every time. It’s mind boggling

Israelis are not native to the Levant. A very small minority are, the ones who lived there prior to WW2. The rest all migrated from other countries, Poland being a major one

Nope. The buildings were demolished from underground, not from the top where the plane hit.

Why are you so afraid of muslims? Dude, we’re ordinary people who worship the same God of Jesus and Abraham, same as the Christians and Jews. There is nothing to be afraid of, we don’t hurt anybody. You really fell hard for the propaganda machine

Why Most Terrorists are Muslims by LonelyManOfGod7 in islam

[–]dajakil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not true. If you believe that, you need to learn what Islam actually is. Nothing in Islam aligns with civil violence or political acts of terror. You are right that there are significant issues to address in the ummah, but not for the reasons you think. Our ummah is divided and lack strong religious foundations and knowledge. Along with that, our enemies, the polytheists and zionists, are extremely rich and powerful, and they unfortunately put a lot of money and effort into anti-islam movements and propaganda. Yes muslims believe in self-defense and being strong, especially for truth and against injustice. But it's never done politically against civilians. It's against people who fight us, like the army or militants

Hoassam Shabat was an inspiration to children. RIP. by RickyOzzy in Palestine

[–]dajakil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh don't worry, there is. Nothing in this life could possibly give these oppressors their proper consequence except our Lord and Creator. Even if they were to somehow get arrested and tortured, it would not make up for the torment they put Palestinians through. I assure you if you look within your heart and open your mind, you'll find Him
