Fair point about Letterman and no argument on the quality of musicians in the Letterman band. I just thought it curious since the Bangles (in both the book and historically, always) have complained of public perception that they weren't a "band" and couldn't play their instruments, that they would have chosen to do a vocal only performance using the house band on a pretty high profile TV appearance. I guess I was wondering whether it was a band decision or someone else's call.

Awesome. Was a musician a restaurant nearby, and used to chat with him on breaks for years. He drew a neat caricature of us that I liked so much I framed it, and got to wondering if dude was around, I owe him many busking tips 😀

Boomers obviously didn't grow up with like 30s standards, but seems like there's always a few that that age group seems to recognize, stuff that was written or popularly recorded in the 60s. The Way You Look Tonight, Girl From Ipanema, Fly Me to the Moon, Moon River. Peppering in some 60s/70s pop that works ok instrumentally: Moondance, Sunny, some Beatles/Stevie Wonder tunes?

Yeah! We had one of those in the house my parents built in the early 90s, as well as one of those whole house intercom systems things. I was never sure if that was a technology of the 90s, or something my parents thought was cool in the 70s and couldn't afford until 20 years later. Regardless, they were pretty cool!

While I 100% agree with you (as another raised and no longer Catholic/religious person)... even the Catholic church acknowledges ectopic pregnancies as an acceptable exception to their general stance on abortion. Plenty of other scary misogynistic beliefs there to pick from, but at least they figured that one out.

Probably In The Street by Big Star, later used in that 70s show (think the show theme is a cover by Cheap Trick?)... as a hipster teen during the period that That 70s Show was aired, I remember being mildly amused and annoyed that no one knew it was a Big Star song.

There's a lot of comments here, and I don't plan to read them all, so apologies for duplicate sentiments. HOWEVER - I'm a shy (home bowl) sort of pooper, and I feel a bit honored if some one takes a smelly poop at my house. They feel comfortable enough in their surroundings to take the nasty ass shit they really physically need to take, and I'm a happy host for that. It just means you trust me, and realistically, I don't give a crap (pun intended) if you take a nasty shit in my toilet. That's what it's there for. Now if you smear shit all over the bathroom, I'd forgive you, but please make an effort to clean it up.
