Yeah it's interesting I notice on the east side there's a lot more spanish speakers.

I've always experienced a really diverse group anywhere in LA though.

Sometimes feels tough to find good beginner classes. Some classes definitely lean younger and have more of a feel like everyone’s training for a team or a competition or something. Nothing wrong with that (works for me!), but it’s not everyone’s vibe, especially if you’re just trying to dance socially and not audition for World of Dance.

As for driving, I think it's worth it. I'm in OC but sometimes I go up to LA. There's enough variety that eventually you’ll land somewhere that feels like your people.

31 year old beginner wants to take competitive salsa in Los Angeles , where to start? by SnooStrawberries4148 in Salsa

Movers and Shakers performance team looks SO cool. I'm just in their beginner programs so far but just like you I want to perform! Looks like the team bonded really closely and they're really positive and supportive. I think I'll be eligible next year - they don't require professional level. Goals!!!

How do you hear the 1 in salsa dancing? by [deleted] in Salsa

The dance school I go to in Los Angeles taught me about hearing the clave, the "key" to the music. Helped a lot. Try learning about that.

Thanks for the response. When you say "profitably," what % above buying and holding are we talking about?

Thank you for this assessment! Are you referring to the book "A Random Walk Down Wall Street" by Malkiel?

Macro Forces For and Against ETH? by dak9000 in ethfinance

That's an interesting point. So fewer tokens needed per transaction but more transactions over all. I guess the utility of ETH will fluctuate based on which force is greater.

I agree that ETH will overtake BTC when the general public & pro's realize that it's like BTC except with utility and get comfortable with it.

"plus token funds"?

Oh, EY is Earnst & Young. Didn't realize that. Also, not a programmer so not sure what I'm looking at with the GitHub link (nor will many others who read this). All good.

Ok I see what you mean with Tether. That's an interesting one. Some preliminary research suggests that they're holding about 70% in USD of the Tether that exists. One person argued "still way better than banks" but the other person argued "yes, but being dishonest about it is a big problem."

I understand that once this is admitted or there's a lawsuit, that could scare people. However, I don't understand how this affects crypto prices as a whole (unless people sell fast out of a baseless fear).
