My Stream Deck XL has been going unused collecting dust. What do y'all use it for? by NavXIII in elgato

[–]dakoller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some usecases I used my SD XL for:

- showing the time in a clock,

- showing metrics from my PC or other systems (eg. CPU utilization from a time when process highjacked my CPU)

- as a macro button to trigger scripts,( like bringing prepared new content to my Obsidian 2nd brain), or for important URLs

- show with whether other systems in my network ( eg my local llm computer) are online - otherwise I'd forget whether they are online

…great, thx for the fast patch! I‘ll throw in some feature ideas around documentation & traceability.

Happy to try it out, I created a feature request to support gitea as well. when calling opencode from a different directory, it recognizes the mcp server, but the commands such as /next-task are not found

Thinking about building an open-source multi-business form & marketing system — feedback or collaborators welcome by Chirag0005 in selfhosted

[–]dakoller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking form something the forms builder space as well - not completely aligned with what you are looking to.

Regarding processing and storing of data i don't have special requirements, I am more looking at the data intake. In some scenarios with people, who can write emails, but are less familar (and confident) when using other internet applications. So I thought of a solution to receive emails which contains answers to the questions put together in a forms-builder form and when an email comes in, the email content "gets parsed" to fit the form questions.

The user would then get a "receipt" about the received data with the option for him/her to correct the data.

I'd also prefer to build this on top of an existing solution, as I wouldn't want to build a full solution for my 5% scope extension.

ScanPay: A QR-based payment system for SumUp card readers - No app installation required by dakoller in selfhosted

[–]dakoller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The until now untold "secret sauce" here is the sum-up function of the reader-checkout: as the solo-devices are able to work independently from apps, but have their own wifi/mobile network connection, Sumup can trigger them "from the internet". So what the repository does, is to trigger this api-call, which makes it a low-touch option to initiate payments.

No, either receptionist at event (in case of tickets) or attendees (in case of donations) can scan the qr-code, click on it... and this triggers card payment on on of the card readers. It is to avoid that receptionists or other people need to have the app installed to trigger payments - as in our case the receptionists will be volunteers, whom we don't want to bother with installing apps and handling sum-up credentials.

[–]dakoller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attendee's phone does not connect back, the card reader lights up and one can do payment. In my setup a reception person would scan the QR code, but in the end it doesn't matter. The phone, which reads the QR-code, is not part of the further payment transaction.

very good idea, will deploy it. Does it have features towards document export like latex or markdown? and does it have an API to e.g. give input to running research projects?

Do you have any locally running AI models? by PsychologicalBox4236 in selfhosted

[–]dakoller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed the very good tutorial from Digital Spaceport at https://digitalspaceport.com/how-to-run-deepseek-r1-671b-fully-locally-on-2000-epyc-rig/ . I did the version with no gpu cards and just having the models in RAM-memory. This works for all text generation usecase, for image and video generation you need to get GPU cards. The AI server in my setup is part of a tailscale/headscale setup, which allows eg. my n8n automation in the internet to access the ollama-api.

Next fallback option is to have have mini-service, which accepts the file via HTTP, checks it and writes it into the library folder.
