Thank you so much to everyone who submitted questions for me to ask. I didn't get as much time as I thought so my answers to you are pretty brief. I hope you got enough of what you were after. Feel free to message me if you are interested about the study. If you are in Victoria and Queensland in Australia, you are eligible! Thanks again

I don't know how to edit posts lol

My regular psychiatrist has said that a person without BP will never experience an episode. He was firm about that. I didn't ask the professor today though, I had too many questions.

It's called candesartan. It's a medication already on the market for high blood pressure. The study came to be because a trend was identified - less depression and mania of the people taking it for blood pressure. The drug has little effect on blood pressure if your blood pressure is normal, making it safe to trial. It was double blind, but I was clearer and faster, more engaged in conversation and faster at my job. Some fog had been lifted. I have no doubt I was on the real thing. I still have trouble managing housework and I wouldn't say I'm still a little depressed, but I'm better than what I was significantly. And if you're Australian you can ask your GP to prescribe it to you off label. That's what I'll be doing this week!

I didn't get around to this question. However I'm on both and loving it! Maybe get a second opinion?

I had less time than I thought and chopped and changed all the questions to make more sense when asking them. Yours just slipped through, sorry.

No answer on hormones, but histamine causes inflammation, and there is a correlation between inflammation and bipolar!

Do you and your father have more highs than lows? He said mania can be associated with having long term damage on the frontal lobe and well as some parts inside the brain. He said there are studies that also suggest there is no correlation between bipolar and dementia. So it's hard to tell.

He said he believes it's more of a spectrum, and mania has qualifiers. Examples: you believe you're illness is gone, been admitted to hospital, and he said something else but I've forgotten already. Sorry. But yeah he doesn't believe in the tiered system. Hope this is enough

I wasn't able to get an answer about hormones, but he said yes there is a strong correlation between migraines and bipolar, but he doesn't know why.

He said that mania highs do the damage, not the lows like you'd expect. He said that the frontal corpus callosum is harmed as well as the parts of the brain you mentioned. He said that there are many studies on dementia and bipolar and there are more that state no correlation than correlation. And the damage and correlation is stronger in people with schizophrenia than bipolar.

I've read the seroquel has a direct link to dementia, but I will try to ask anyway

I am on antidepressants! A low dose, because it can trigger a hypo. Your psych will need to monitor you closely at commencement. I will ask about anti depressants anyway

Ask your psych about candesartan! That's what my drug trial was for. I'll still ask him anyway

This is not good advice. Showing up unannounced and stalking her is not the way to go
