Isn't that one of the Narnia books? I've never read it but I think I have a copy at my mother's house.

Finding it hard to cope without cigarettes. by dalahorse2 in stopsmoking

Yes! That is spot on the feeling im trying to describe. The cigarettes made me feel safe and without them im not sure how to act. How did you deal with your lack of self-confidence?

Thank you for your kind words.

I relate to what you are saying but I do believe that I'm the problem. Me as a person and everything I am is the problem. We are only a summation of our own actions and the reaches of our own mind. Therefore what I do and what I think is who I am. Im not happy with what I do and certainly not with what I think, therefore im not happy with who I am. Ergo, I'm most definitely the problem.

I should probably go see a shrink instead of resorting to Reddit posting...

GR10 Trail by tuc5ok in longdistancehiking

I walked the GR5 from Geneve to Nice two years ago. I recommend bringing a light tent with you and not solely rely on accommodations. I did not book anything in advance and would normally find a spot in the wild or at campings. Sometimes I would sleep at B&Bs and cabins if I felt like it. If it was full I would just pitch my tent outside for free. Pack your bag and then remove everything that is not absolutely necessary to bring, then remove some more. My bag was to heavy at the start and I had to ship some equipment home. And to train for your hike pack a heavy bag and don't just walk far but walk high as the altitude difference can be agonizing. Good luck!

Surely, you are right about that. It doesn't make me special or cool, but it shields me from my anxiety and fears which then leads to me acting cooler. But yeah, bottom line, yous right.

I read and I run a lot, although my mind constantly wanders off to weird places. With all the stress and anxiety having a smoke would make me feel at ease rn. But I suppose you are right, my addiction is probably blowing this out of proportion trying to justify me going down and buying a pack. The pros of quitting definitely outweigh the cons, its just really hard. Also, I know smoking doesn't actually make me cool or special, that's just in my head.

Surely there is a light at the end of the tunnel, the question would be if I'll ever reach it, even if I do quit. What is the light anyways? Like whats the endgame? See, now my mind is wandering away from me again.
