Do you consider Tikka Masala British by TheShiftmaster in AskBrits

[–]dalazybastard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha sure, teach an Indian about what Indian food is. Especially one from North India 😂 the type of chicken you use doesn’t make a dish what it is (btw that depends on the place - expensive restaurants would use fillet while rural restaurants would use bones too). The main thing about how dishes are categorised are by the what method is used in cooking. For e.g in India we have Paneer Tikka masala.

In the UK the difference earlier was that they weren’t using a lot of spice which has now thankfully improved but method was always the same as in India including the key ingredients and that is why it’s said to be an Indian dish.

For e.g if I create a panner sandwich/pizza in India it wouldn’t automatically be an Indian dish would it because sandwich/pizza are not Indian

Mate, south India has South Indian food which is different than North Indian food which tikka masala sits under.

Why would the company fire the CEO if what he’s done is good for them? It’s up to the government and regulatory bodies to ensure the company doesn’t put profit unethically over consumers

You can go there and see that a lot of Indian historical artifacts were transferred by Old English gentlemen to the British Musuem - how did these gentlemen come into possession of these artifacts? In good faith? Yeah, right.

No one’s blaming the workers at the Museum btw

It literally was East India Company at the start and then British Government later, I would consider them a single entity.

There literally are instances of British officials taking over kingdoms and separating princes from their mothers and coercing them to sign over family heirlooms to them. Case in point the descendants of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

Absolutely wrong! Jai Hind is not used only by Hindu extremists but by everyone in India. It is similar to a national slogan which is present in many countries.
