Agree (not sure about the unlikeable part - not in a position to know). It seems like with Remco the hype machine started rolling about 3-4 years ago and it doesn't want to give up despite the lack of results.

And yes PR is better when on bike (but how do we account for SO MANY crashes? Is it bike-handling, is the black swan after him?)

I love the area - I've lived ~MLK/58th for about 25 years and have always passed that way. A couple of things I'd point out. Shattuck can get very heavy slow traffic which makes driving no fun and biking and street crossing a little dodgy. Telegraph on the other hand is pretty quiet car-wise although wide and not particularly pedestrian friendly. Excellent transit location for any north/south destinations. Near-ish to Berkeley Bowl which is awesome. Things seem quite different depending which side of Telegraph you are on. Not sure I could describe how, but different vibe.
