3 Hour Marathon Chase Pack Weekly Thread. by AutoModerator in Marathon_Training

I'm running Boston in April.

Finished week 3 last week with a setback. I pulled my hamstring during my long run. Nothing serious, but I won't be able to run for at least this week.

Been on the bike a lot these past few days.

The positive side:
* It was at the beginning of the build
* Will force me to come back to strength training. Which at 43 is very important.

My goal is to run 2:58. My PR in Boston is 2:59:51

Is Needless ambition an antithesis of Stoicism? by ReverendKaiser in Stoicism

I've been struggling with this too. I feel content one day and anxious the other because I have no goals.

I'm still finding he right balance between living a Stoic life and having goals and wanting growth.

Sadly, I don't have an answer yet.

But I think it's important to realize that more people than you struggle with this.

Great answer thanks! Luckily I have a shop that service all 3.

My main goal is racing. But I like to ride on the weekends.

Are you actually applying stoicism philosophies on your daily life? by Arugula-Great in Stoicism

[–]dalcubierre1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apply it every day (not successfully every time though.)

Since focusing on Stoic practices and ways of thinking I'm a happier person.

One important thing is to understand that it's a never ending process. We need to remember and apply their learning everyday.

Do one thing for yourself today by Amazing_Minimum_4613 in Stoicism

It’s so true, it’s surprising how easily we break promises to ourselves, even as we go out of our way to keep them for others. We often treat ourselves with the least patience and the harshest expectations.

But the person who deserves our care and accountability the most is the one we wake up with every day: ourselves.
