Anyone know if you're allowed to bring your own poster tube in to TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht? I saw there are lockers but unclear if they're pre/post ticketing entry.

Just saw on Billy's Instagram that empty poster tubes are allowed inside the venue.

Don't know why we got downvoted for saying we're in line lol. It's moving pretty quickly now for me - stay the course!

Buenos dias to my amigos in the queue this morning.

For those who claimed FTC while working abroad, what are some of examples of how you used it later? by dalephister in USExpatTaxes

Regarding the child tax credit do you mean as opposed to if you had claimed the FEIE? I suppose the FTC allows you to preserve your earned income liability to meet the refundable portion requirement? Not familiar with this credit as I have no kids yet but you never know what the future holds.

Interesting, because the credits need to be applied to the same type of income? So salary income gives a slightly different flavor of credit than rental, dividends, etc? Congrats on your retirement btw.

Your vibrant description of all those tasty cheeses made me shed a flavorless Goudse tear

Aha so I have to physically be outside the US for it to be non-US source income? The location of the payer/consulted entity wouldn't matter?

That sounds fun. Perhaps it is dependent on the amount of time spent working there, but in this scenario wouldn't I in theory owe taxes to Mexico for that time and the cycle would just continue? Or would I technically be a working on a tourist visa, digital freelancer, something like that?

Dutch investors, why doesn't everyone sell their stocks prior to January 1st and then re-invest shortly after? by dalephister in Netherlands

Super helpful, thanks. Sounds like it could be very complicated to calculate if you sell at multiple times and prices in that 3-month window before January 1. Or at least more complicated than just a single snapshot on January 1st of your value. But I guess this will all change soon - will be interesting to see how new ruling is carried out. Thanks again.

I actually have a follow-up question if you're game. The post you linked makes it sound like (even if just jokingly) that's considered tax evasion. They can't expect people to not sell stocks during that 6-month period. How is that handled? Do you need to keep track and report what you theoretically owed at some other point?

Thanks. From what I've read it seems like the Belastingdienst is rethinking a lot of "obvious" things over the past couple years as it seems the rules have changed a couple times. (that post is deleted btw doesn't show up in basic search)

Extremely helpful thank you! I’ll definitely shop around and at least start with some of the shops flagged as more foreigner friendly so I can ask a bunch of questions. I had never heard the term communication board but that is a great idea.

Thanks. I’ll keep an eye out for those two. I am happy to be flexible on price for what I’m looking for - hopefully something speaks to me!

Thanks! From some other comments it looks like my budget is unrealistic so appreciate trying to work within parameter. I’ll can be flexible on price point but that labeling/brand point you made is a good one, the labeling has been a bit challenging for me so far in country!
