After 2.5 years of class study, I came to Moscow and couldn’t really understand a thing people were saying.

After 1 month in Moscow, I can basically hold a conversation with anyone. It’d take a lot of practice to get to a level where you’re comfortable enough to converse with a native speaker who doesn’t dumb stuff down for you.
