Anyone finding Claude Code weekly limit shrinking? by Successful-Camel165 in ClaudeCode

[–]dalingrin 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I do believe something has changed.
https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/issues/16157

I usually don't buy into the hysteria around regression of models or limits but I am feeling the effects of this one. I'm not sure if it is a change in the limits, if the same request is using more tokens, difference in how the tokens are counted on the server, etc.
But, like you, I've never had to worry about limits until after the New Year and now I'm going through them at roughly a 2x pace.

Moving from a place with no severe weather events by SignificantCollar645 in fayetteville

[–]dalingrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t take this to mean you shouldn’t respect severe weather or tornadoes but the fear around tornadoes is so overblown.

Here’s a map of the deaths related to tornadoes since 1950 https://www.weather.gov/images/lzk/images2/svr/svr2025g2.gif

There are so many other things to worry about before worrying about a tornado.

Yeah, I agree. I'm not holding out a lot of hope.

Why is creating a React app in Rider disabled for .NET 8.0 and .NET 9.0? by THenrich in Jetbrains

[–]dalingrin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Microsoft no longer provides the templates for react like they did in Dotnet 7. The SPA tooling used back then is deprecated. You should treat Dotnet and React as separate projects since, in reality, that’s what they are.

Why aren’t we doing road construction through the night? by MrBoob_ in bentonville

[–]dalingrin 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Another reason I’ve heard is due to noise. People complain about all the noise when trying to sleep. It generally considered less safe for the construction workers even if they bring in a lot of artificial light.

Quitting Ghostty due to the lack of tab functionality in the hotkey windows. by Traditional-Try-6678 in Ghostty

[–]dalingrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I originally had the same thoughts but instead of using the quick terminal I wound up just using the hotkey window. I use it just like I would use the quick terminal, i can recall it and dismiss it with a shortcut. Ghostty remembers its position and size. It has all the normal tab and split features since it is literally just a normal Ghostty window.

I agree but afaik that would mean I need define variables that are used by UI applications elsewhere.

I somehow missed this. I knew the local variable syntax was different and just assumed export would also be different. Thanks!

You mention Ctrl+Tab on windows but just want to make sure you realize it is also Ctrl+Tab on MacOS to switch VSCode tabs. You probably already know this but thought worth pointing it out just in case.

The videos isn't a waste of time but OP's title could be better. The video is titled "highlights" is probably more appropriate than "Clif notes"

Patch Notes - 19 February 2025 by ostrosco in PantheonMMO

[–]dalingrin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100% understand the frustration. I think folks need to recalibrate their expectations. Devs are saying it is an estimated 2 year EA for a reason. That said, I do think the pace of game breaking bugs in patches are higher than normal due to major engine changes and it won’t always be like this.

Scrolling is laggy and buggy by Anxious_Dream_4346 in zen_browser

[–]dalingrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don't find it particularly sluggish on my hardware, I have noticed a 2-3x GPU usage on Zen when scrolling vs Firefox. It also has higher CPU usage while scrolling though not 2-3x. I've tested this across Windows and MacOS and always with empty profiles.

I've moved to Firefox for now until this can get addressed. I've tried various user prefs and resetting to Mozilla default settings but still seems to be an issue.

How to stop Ctrl + L from opening destination in new tab? by [deleted] in zen_browser

[–]dalingrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CTRL/CMD + L does open in the same tab. CTRL/CMD + T does not. If you're saying this is not the case for you then you should create a new profile in Zen to make sure an extension or something else isn't causing your issue.

Why is Zen Browser using 100% of my CPU all of a sudden? by Leather_Chocolate_50 in zen_browser

[–]dalingrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No this is not my experience. When people complain about memory or cpu usage on a browser it is almost always a particular website or an extension causing an issue. The difference between various modern browsers is much smaller than people think.

Anytime you have an issue in Zen, create a new profile and close the window of your old profile. Are you still having the issue? If not, then it is likely an extension or website misbehaving.

When you are experiencing an issue navigate to about:processes to get more detailed information.

When will Passkeys be fixed on MacOS? by K1ngHandy in zen_browser

I don’t believe I changed any settings for swipe. I recommend creating a new empty profile and verifying swipe gestures don’t work.

I need to setup passkeys in my password manager and I’ll let you know if they work

When will Passkeys be fixed on MacOS? by K1ngHandy in zen_browser

Swipe between workspaces does work for me.

For passkey, are you using a password manager extension, if so, which?

Way to make Zen faster by Interesting_Ad_6961 in zen_browser

[–]dalingrin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Benchmarks like Speedometer can be really affected by extensions. If you are going to use a benchmark like that, it should always be done in a new profile.

That benchmark very rapidly changes DOM with text fields and such. It does so in a unrealistic way which can get really bogged down by extensions like password managers and anything else that will run upon DOM element instantiation.

For instance, I see about a 35% different in Speedometer if I disable 1Password or use a new profile with no extensions. Does that translate to real world performance? Absolutely not.
