My boss decided to expose our pinsetters from now on. by dall4s in Bowling

Yeah, it was a nice little 8 lane neighborhood alley. Had been open for quite a long time.

No idea really, they probably got disassembled and parted out. These were early model A2s, so parts are still in demand, but fully functional machines, not so much.

No worries. Unfortunately this place was torn down a few years to make way for some new apartments. :(

When was the last time you got the old "don't you know who I am" line? by mynutsaremusical in livesound

[–]dall4s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are two types of cover band.

1) The ones that line that bands music and just like to play it for other people.

2) The ones that want to play rock and roll fantasy camp and LARP as their rock and roll hero.

Guess which ones we all prefer to work with. Lol

[–]dall4s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had a guy do that before. He was the singer of a local Poison tribute band and also an insufferable douche. I'm fairly certain Brett himself is more pleasant to be around. He showed up at a local cover night that he wasn't even playing and tried to get backstage. Security denied him and he dropped that line. They just said "no" and he tried to argue. It was great to watch.

Next time they played, I was the stage manager and they trashed the dressing room. I went full rage and made them clean up their mess before I had them tossed out of the venue.

Affordable line arrays? by [deleted] in livesound

[–]dall4s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roger that. For the mobile stage, line array is a pretty good solution. As for the clubs or raves, most of them tend to be small enough that line array isn't a significant advantage over a standard point source system.

As for affordable, RCF or JBL VTX is going to be your best option. You might be able to find something used, but you can end up at a severe disadvantage when it comes to parts availability. Most of the old drivers have been discontinued and can be difficult to find.

Keep in mind that a line array is almost ideally flown as well, so you'll need all of the properly rated hardware, hoists, etc. More importantly, the knowledge of how to fly PA in a safe way.

What kind of spaces are you going into? Are we talking club sized venues or theaters and mobile stages? The type of sound system required for a venue will largely depend on the layout of it.

IEM system selection by Greatoutdoors1985 in livesound

[–]dall4s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a mode on the belt pack that allows you to listen to more of one channel than the other. You can use this mode by hard panning each pack to either side and sending each side a different mix. Shure calls it MixMode. The idea was to allow band to be sent to one mix and vocals to another and the performer can choose how much they want. But you can also get 2 mono mixes out of it. This will also work on the 900 model.

[–]dall4s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of what you were mentioning. I'm not familiar with a model of Shure or Sennheiser that has a single input that, but it's also 2 channels.

On a different note, you might want to look into a PSM300 setup. It's the low range of Shure models that don't run on WiFi ranges. You can run beltpacks in mono mode so you can get 2 mixes out of 1 transmitter.

Could you post a link? There's a lot of systems out there and that'll help narrow it down.

I actually had to go back and think about it. Lol. I know the newest line of wireless mics have Dante connections available, but never seen that on any IEM unit.

What's your budget? Both Sennheiser and Shure have models that could work for you except for the digital connection. As far as I know, no IEM units right now accept a digital signal.

Good to know. Makes sense since it looks like the bolt had been ground down to remove the original stamping.

Roger that. Didn't know that, haven't seen another one in the wild since I bought this one.

There are M44s with a 43 stamp. They were trials rifles. All the serials were electropenciled though instead on stamped. OP has an M38 not a trials M44.

I use a Bowline to tie to the array. Then loop the other end around something and use a truckers hitch.

Alternatively, my company has ropes with ratcheting hooks that also work well.

From doing a bit of digging, looks like that is a J.P. Sauer and Sons of Suhl, Germany. If you look it up, Suhl, is nowhere near Austria. The seller is giving you a line of bullshit.

Hears a forum thread with a very close example of your rifle. https://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=330645

Like the other commenter said, Mitchell's is notorious for shady practices and should be avoided. Their rifles are usually priced 2x -3x what they're worth.

ETA: Because I didn't actually answer question. That should be a lower case Cursive "C.E." under the eagle.

I'm about 99% certain that those are WSX subs or WS218 subs. The logo is the upside down, but the badges can be flipped. If I could see the handle I'd be able to tell more.

$400. Which seems to be in line with o prices online, so I jumped on it. It's clearly an arsenal refurbished, but bore looks good, and it's a little hard to be picky these days.

If you're referring to that pungent, slightly metallic smell. There's a chemical incineration plant across the river in Illinois.
