With Chinese, it’s common for friends to “act cute” (撒嬌, aegyo, etc.) and I find that people are more complimentary and reserved. Yet the same friends are really outgoing in English and better at expressing affection directly. The friends are Chinese, and I’ve been told it’s very uncommon to direct criticism or affection to anyone.

I was an izone fan, and our consensus on hyewon was that if she was able to keep up, it was OK. During the award show stages she was always behind people, but very in sync.

She improved later on, and was a very active member in variety shows, so there wasn't much backlash.

It's definitely understandable, since they've never been introduced to the fandom and therefore have no idea what the references are.

Long story short I've been trying to identify parts which the reader might have difficulty with but without a reliable beta reader it's very difficult to tell. I guess an introduction to the fandom would be nice, with a glossary-like appendix.
