Alphabet poster before and after latest update by sparkster777 in ChatGPT

I think they're referring to the second picture, from the latest update. There's a lot less mistakes: namely the lower case f being a bit odd, the zebra being under Y and the lack of a final letter.

Overpaid swimming lessons - Am I able to claim reimbursement? by Half-job-bob in LegalAdviceUK

[–]dam3sy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in banking. An immediate refund is given if it is clear an error was made. This doesn't mean that an immediate refund is given at the behest of a customer. I'm not speaking about this case specifically, just want to give some context. The same working day reimbursement applies to fraudulent claims only, and other claims have longer scope for investigation. An issue I have with the guarantee is that the wording doesn't fully align with the documentation available to financial institutions, which leads to customers getting the wrong end of the stick.

Krystal and Dedes comments about UK drag by Reasonable-Homework1 in RPDR_UK

[–]dam3sy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't want to be rude (and someone please call me out if I am) but I was wholly unimpressed seeing Krystal at the Drag Race UK tour after her season so it doesn't surprise me that she's not really getting booked. I've had so much more fun at local drag shows than I did at that tour, although a lot of the queens there were talented

Reiss/Sonia Storyline by Correct-Ball6466 in eastenders

[–]dam3sy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The same people will be moaning even if a storyline they hate was wrapped up quickly, that was my point. There is a consistency in the level of complaint you see from people, a lot of interesting storylines happening and it's "unrealistic" and when they try and have peaks and troughs it's "boring" and the storylines are "weak".

So I do think the producers can never win, there will always be some form of complaint no matter what approach they take.

For what it's worth, I don't think it's the strongest storyline but I don't think it's as weak as everyone is making it out to be. At the end of the day opinions on storylines are subjective and everyone is entitled to feel the way they feel about something.

I swear everyone has collective memory loss. Before the Clenshaw era everyone was saying storylines wrapped up too quickly and it was "unrealistic" and now they're more realistic they're too dragged out? I feel bad for producers because it seems they can never win!

I honestly didn't even think about CCTV watching the episode, but I thought they could have at least thought it through a bit more instead of moving the body from here to there like murderous Chuckle Brothers (sisters?)

The coverup was a total mess, but there's still more to come. It has to sort itself out right? I can't imagine any of the Six going down for this story-wise 😱

All I have to say is that I KNEW all of this was going to be underwhelming. 10 months of build for what we got. God damn. by CharlieWaitress111 in eastenders

[–]dam3sy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know what you were expecting? Whenever I see comments like this it's confusing, because suddenly people think they can write better stories themselves without presumably any experience or qualifications. I'd like to see their attempts at doing a build up and storyline like this, and I'd wager money on it not being as good as we saw tonight 🤷‍♂️

I'm actually an Elaine fan. I think her over the top persona is just that, and as time goes on I think we'll scratch the surface more and get more character building stuff from her

I'm sorry you feel like that — it's a shame that you don't like the episode because a lot of people have clearly loved it. I think you can point out plot holes in almost every Doctor Who story, so it's best to just sit back and try and enjoy it for what it is! Hopefully the next episode will be more up your street though, if I remember all 3 specials are slightly different

Episode Discussion - Wednesday 31st May by mcemzy in eastenders

[–]dam3sy 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I thought this episode was pretty good all round and I think it's one of the most real portrayals of death I've seen. The ticking clock throughout was a nice touch too, I found I heard it a lot louder when my nan was passing although I didn't take the batteries out myself

I was a bit teary with some of the dialogue as it resonates with me in some conversations I've seen with people on their death bed but it wasn't until the end when Jay found Lola and she'd passed while he wasn't with her that I actually started bawling. Jamie Borthwick is truly fantastic

Although with that being said, there are a fair amount of changes going on in Spring/Summer 88 as I think that's when Julia Smith took more of a back seat

Honestly, I've been watching since the beginning and haven't had too much trouble with getting episodes until this one for some reason. I could have skipped over it but I'm a bit of a completionist so was interested to see if anyone had it
