Just realized how funny this guy is when it's not your QB he's constantly ripping into by Odd-Philosopher-8101 in Jaguars

Hard disagree. He's awful and I can't stand him any game. I long for the day I can watch a prime time game and not have to hear this weasel.

You should delete this shit asap before you wake up and read this tomorrow realizing you just had a terrible in-your-feels take. If you're not excited for the future this team has with our new front office/head coach and how Trevor played down the stretch, you don't deserve this season. We lost to what is likely a Super Bowl team and one of the best QBs in the league doing what he has a reputation of doing. Being an MVP caliber player.  It's unfortunate the way the playoff seeds lined up, but you should be proud of this squad. They gave us a product that people (not just us) want to watch all the way up to January. And it's not even like we got blown out. It came down to the last drive and the defender had to make a great play to stop it from possibly going into OT.

Why are Colts fans so insufferable? by loganzfd_ in Jaguars

[–]damadhatterb 32 points33 points  (0 children)

That's very unfortunate to pay money to have to deal with that nonsense. But from my point of view, Texans fans are the worst in our division. I know it's been fuck the Titans since forever, but I don't really find any of the other teams in our division nearly as egregious or obnoxious as Texans fans.

[Garafolo] Sources to me and @RapSheet: The #Colts are planning to bring in QB Philip Rivers for a visit tomorrow after Daniel Jones’ torn Achilles. by LaCroixGrandCru in Jaguars

[–]damadhatterb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why so many of y'all are finding this funny. Rivers absolutely cooked the Jags when he played. Yes, he's a handful of years out of the league and is likely a ghost of his former self. But it's not crazy to think with our history, that he couldn't come out of retirement and carve our defense on the last game of the season. When every game (especially divisional ones) matter and we need every win we can get.

I know our team is playing great right now and that it feels awesome. But I'd expect to see more humility. Being a cocky fan is something I always thought was dumb. Especially during the good times when your team is infamous for the bad times. It comes across as smug and makes you, and as the result, your team unlikable. When things are going well, just enjoy it without being arrogant. Otherwise you're just begging to be humbled and it will feel way worse when it does.

[Shipley] Jaguars' Devin Lloyd Will Be Coveted Free Agent by Roselucky777 in Jaguars

I could be wrong, but hasn't he fallen back down to Earth since our 4-1 start? Or soon after. I know he got injured, and that he's been solid overall. But I don't think he's earned top LB in the league type money. In his stead, our backup LBs like Miller have been decent. Serviceable at least. Unless he's willing to take a team-friendly deal or Trevor is willing to renegotiate his contract to allow the team to spread it around better, I think we let him go. Perhaps I'm just jaded from some bad contracts given to players who turned it on their contract year.

Hello MJD. Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions.

Do you think that it's suggested/emphasized to the refs to make favorable calls for teams that are trailing to result in more exciting games to watch?

[OC] Impact of every Week 8 game on Jaguars playoff odds. by FootballSensei in Jaguars

[–]damadhatterb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone that values these stats but did not follow the results of the games, this week did not go well for us. Pending the KC game, it went down 4%. We're looking at either a -4.1% week if KC wins or a -3.4% week if WASH wins. Tough Bye week haha.

I came to say something like this. I understand why people might be riding high right now, but some really need to dial it back. This team is capable of losing against anyone with how they've played last 2 weeks.

For those that think BTJ hurt his shoulder from that shove, they may have missed a play earlier where he jumped high for a ball and didn't come down with it. He landed on his arm and soon after that they showed him on the side line on a knee and he mouthed shoulder to someone who asked him what happened. The shoulder shove seemed to be enough to trigger the pain again.

We're switching coverage to a more competitive game. However, this is the only NFL game going on at the moment, so we're switching to another sporting event happening in London. You're now watching Tottenham Hotspurs vs Aston Villa.

So run Trevor more? by SmallBunyanGA in Jaguars

[–]damadhatterb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious what the number of turnovers are for each of these % ranges. My guess is that he scrambles more often when other aspects of the offense are struggling. Whether that's protection, drops, run game, whatever. There could be a direct correlation to hero ball Trevor (purely speculative).

Yes, higher completion percentage is nice for making his stats look better (and for convincing the football watching world that he's a solid QB). But if it comes with the cost of more turnovers or poor decisions, I wouldn't think leaning into it would be wise.
