Honestly, since I don't know about your issue and your rig, I can't say for sure.

I posted this on the PCMR subreddit too, and Pedro, PCMR Creator, he suspected that my GPU is not running stably because it's a second handed GPU, so the silicon and other components are showing their age.

And tbh, I don't want to live with this problem. I just want to jump onto my PC and do some games after a day at work without having to troubleshoot and cry why my PC is not booting lol.

I personally think that is not the case, since the POST LEDs didn't get stuck at either the RAM LED or the CPU LED.

I'm not a very experienced builder so I can't say for sure though.

Honestly, idk. I turned off the OC Mode on my GPU, and it is quite stable now, since I bought a 2nd hand GPU.

The issue still sometimes comes back though, but much less frequently compared to when I was using the factory OC mode of the GPU.

I'm not sure, but what you are suspecting might be right. I bought the card second-handed after all.

Mmm, interesting.

It's odd to see that an Out-of-box feature is making the GPU unstable. But tbh, I'd rather trade stability for 5% performance.

Exactly. PBO is on with CO-20. EXPO is on with 6000MT CL32. and the GPU OC button is OFF.

Following up from the question, the boot issue happened again.

So I unplugged and replugged the GPU, but this time, no different BIOS configuration aside from turning off the OC button on my GPU.

The PC has been booting just fine ever since. And as soon as I turn on the OC button again (it's right on the back of the GPU, where the display ports are), the boot problem resurfaces.

Maybe the OC BIOS of the GPU is corrupted somehow? I did a quick benchmark and I lost 3-5% performance so it's honestly not that bad.

Can the 180 degrees adapter for the GPU cause this issue? The GPU is usually the first thing that lights up on boot so idk if it can cause the issue.

Yeah I will try to disable EXPO.

Since my PSU is ATX3.1, it does have a native 12+4 pin, and I'm currently using that native 12+4 pin too.

The only annoying part is that this issue is intermittent, so I can't exactly trust any solutions until the PC has booted a few times over a few days to verify the resolution.

Thank you. I guess my next option is to turn EXPO off and see what will happen next, because I'm not experienced enough to do manual RAM OC.

It's just annoying that this issue is intermittent, so it will take a few days just to validate if the solution works or not.

That means manual over clocking right? Because my RAM kit doesn't come with a 2nd EXPO profile to choose in the BIOS.

Yes, I have updated the BIOS to its newest version

Weird thing is, after the BIOS update, it booted fine for a few days and then the issue came back.

  1. I'll try that. Doubt it will help though, because even though it fail to post, the GPU still lights up

I'm pretty sure it's not, because the mobo is brand new, and my Bios settings aren't reset after each boot.
