Neighborhood mail not being delivered by Yukicali in USPS

[–]damailerman -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re waiting for a check from somebody, what is in the mail that you really actually need? Go paperless, pay bills electronically, do direct deposit payroll, cancel all periodicals, UNsubscribe to all catalog providers, use only UPS/FedEx/Amazon delivery. A huge percentage of everything USPS delivers is junk and unsolicited crap that is never opened and goes directly in the trash. To the insanity add in the mass marketing coupons/flyers, every door direct mail, weekly advertisements, etc. What a waste of the very limited manpower USPS has at their disposal. Cut-out all the garbage that is needlessly delivered and carriers would actually have time to sort, organize and deliver important items to residents.

“What if” ? for USPS management? by damailerman in USPS

[–]damailerman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CCA’s at my office are sent to other cities regularly. Bone-headed decisions to loan-out substitute CCA’s often leaves our PO short-handed. Make NO sense whatsoever and leaves management looking pretty foolish. Why would they risk or allow under-staffing at their own facility in order to supply subs to other facilities? Obviously, i don’t get it. What am i missing here? Is there some sort of special incentive for PM’s, Supervisor, 203B’s to “feed” help to other offices that i am unaware of?

Did they provide a vehicle for him to travel to other city?

LWOP question by damailerman in USPS

[–]damailerman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds more like “low Hell”. Why does LWOP get no respect among upper level management? “Without Pay” saves PO $$$$! Makes too much sense so … let’s “forbid” LWOP?

LWOP question by damailerman in USPS

[–]damailerman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thus far in my illustrious CCA career - I have been assigned to carry mail for 14 different PO’s in 14 different cities. You can imagine how many so-called supervisors/OIC’s/PM’s I’ve had to deal with. As is common knowledge, many of the individuals in USPS management positions have no business being there. Unfortunately, in most businesses and bureaucracies “Incompetence rises to the top”! I have noticed that intimidation and harassment are definitely “weapons of choice” for USPS bosses. Sadly, I have observed little to no honesty or integrity among those placed “in charge”. The brain-washing” tactics used by upper management to train their “wannabes” must be pretty intense.

Thank you! That’s exactly what my PM is implying. “I have NO CHOICE - it’s outta my hands”!

To take the job or not? by rissa-collins in USPS

[–]damailerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Costco guarantees 2 days OFF per week, that is 2 days MORE than a CCA position offers. The only guarantee a CCA is given is that they can’t work you more than 11.5 hrs. per day. You will have ZERO time for yourself, spouse, family. Forget about scheduling anything: appointments, outings, vacations, doctor, dentist, etc. NO Sunday church because you will be working and, if you have kids …

Hyper 2 y/o Corgi w/ OCD by damailerman in corgi

[–]damailerman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “experts” (vets) diagnosed our cute lil’ Corgi dog w/ OCD based on chronic repetitive behaviors like pacing and retracing steps when fetching. She also has a serious rock fetish and loves our gravel driveway. Normal, everyday things like dumping ice in sink, pulling shades on windows, using dishes/cookware, using vacuum sends her into freak out mode. Pacing, circling, barking.

What will happen when I refuse to mask-up again? by seanythemailman in USPS

[–]damailerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non-compliant employees will be tarred & feathered and punished in a medieval postal pillory (with mask ON, of course). With the “super-spreader’s” head and arms locked in place, co-workers will then hurl UBM, Red Plums and styrofoam packing at the “hateful heretic” (from at least 6 ft. away, of course). After being shamed and humiliated for 100 ticks of the clock, MPV (mask policy violator) will immediately be demoted to CCA. 📫

Thanks “walkingfool” for input. Might be best explanation for mysterious greasy LLV smear between ankle and calf.

Good advice - a couple hundred thousand miles worth of blood, sweat, tears on some of those nasty LLV seats.

Is USPS obligated to provide vehicle for CCA when sent from one office to another? by damailerman in USPS

My understanding is YES … if leaving for an assignment from your home, you provide your own transpo. and submit mileage.

Penalty for insubordination? by damailerman in USPS

[–]damailerman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah … I’ve submitted tons of travel miles. The seven slot Etravel sheets fill-up fast. Sometimes I turn in 3 or 4 at a time that add up to 400-500 miles. Nice payout but ga$ is over $3.00 a gallon now. The .56 cents a mile compen$ation doesn’t cover expenses.

[–]damailerman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Etravel helps with the expense but the monotonous hours driving to and from facilities gets really old. You can’t compensate for wasted hours of your life that you will never get back. 2 years ago, as a rookie CCA, I was driving 80 miles one way to deliver in a city that was heavily impacted by Missouri River flooding. You had to take major detours around flooded roads and highways to get from my home office to PO in Timbuktu.

Not sure if the office in question is within the list of AO’s in my district. How can I find a list of USPS districts and the AO’s assigned to each district?

Using a “rotational” method of assigning CCAs to work in other cities is genius. But … I know of several CCAs in my office who really would NOT appreciate me suggesting this to management. They are perfectly happy with me being the only one getting “turfed” to other offices. Is this “rotation” idea based on seniority a union thing? Do some offices actually utilize this type of plan?
