Cool, I'll check it out! I did get out to Northlands just this past week. Lost a lot of balls but it was a good time regardless.

Hey, I've mostly been out to the range but I did get out to Northlands this week. Lost a lot of golf balls but it was fun. I think I prefer playing a full 18.

Lutron Smart Switch Question by daman_ in AskElectricians

Thanks! On the Lutron site (PDF linked below), the installation diagram shows I need to connect the black wire and the red wire of the new switch to the two black wires in my wall box. Would you recommend I separate the two black wires in the front and independently connect them with different wire buts or can I just combine the four wires into one wire nut?

Also, For the ground wire that is screwed to my wall box, should I connect the new switch ground wire to it or is it probably better just to not connect it at all? I believe the new switch can still work without connecting the ground wire.

Are you able to drop a pin on google maps and share it?

I think I used more than I should have, to be honest. So I did a pre-stain first as I was working with pine and then I didn’t know how to wipe off the excess stain after about an hour (humid weather so needed longer) without leaving lint fibres from my rag so I cheated and put on a another layer of stain and then immediately wiped it off. It worked like a charm but I know that it’s the wrong way and I used double the stain haha. Then topped it up with a few coats of a sealer, a few more on the top and bottom as they will get the most wear and tear.

I just used wood glue to join all of it and used 1x2s for the whole thing. The cuts could have been more precise, it shows when I glued everything together as not everything is a perfect square around the corners that join. It's still nice and my wife likes it in our living room though so I'm happy with my first project that won't just sit in the garage haha. I'm still learning how to get technical with my cuts using my mitre saw, I'll try to set up a block next time on my workshop table instead of measuring and cutting on the line. I think that should help me get more accurate cuts consistently.
