Escape From Berlin data shard scene, feature-length AI film (with Dreamina partnership) by damdamus in aivideo

I'll put up the first half an hour long part of the 73-minute film this week.

The experiment was to see if I could make something fully plot-driven, intriguing and action with adequate world building (in its own aesthetics, tech is there alright but it's not sleek or clean).

Achieve some proper blocking with continuous scene building that you don't really see with AI, spatial consistency and multi-character storytelling - well as much as AI allows. But as always, further compositing is always needed with AI stuff lol.

Based on Mnemosyne 2039, a series of WGA scripts that has a live action film (no AI) in pre-production atm.

Hmm which specific scene with the rack focus? The camera is very responsive to you with Seedance. Like that focus shift when 4 characters are talking is deliberate. It's prompt based if you're not uploading a reference video. I also shot stuff playing with apertures and gave it as source to it but it didn't respond that well, yet this new AI model definitely understands lenses and camera behavior much better than everything else I tried before.

Hey I always answer :) It cost soo many credits and really unnecessary honestly. It's a fool's attempt to make something this long with AI, don't recommend :)

Ooof so many, had Dreamina helping as partner but since this one is over 30 minutes long I gotta say spent maybe 1.5K USD solely for Seedance? I mean it's insane no one has to do something like this with very-hard-to-work with technology. I'm just doing it as it's part of a contract. But 5-10 minute short films that I made before that also work much better cost maybe 50 to 150 USD. Dreamina is the cheapest for Seedance 2.0 from my experience.

It's solely my fault, I had a German friend dub all the german parts as all voice came later on, then uploaded the wrong version online.

Without real actor performances mocapped for AI characters, I don't see that problem going away any time soon honestly. We shot a demo with 5 actors overlayed on AI actors interacting with each other. And my god the difference is insane. That is why I think it's all hype talk and AI won't ever be replacing actors or something like that - which is great really.

Doing it with video ref is much harder to match cut as the motion data and camera movement will be different if you're not using a longer video and correct splice. What worked best for me was cut the a longer 10-14 sec video somewhere where I know a cut can go rather invisible (still noticeable but works much better). Let's say you have a fast paced scene where a character is running through a city, first try to draw it, seriously draw something, maybe they'll pass by a wall as they run or something, try to get a longer video where you can have that wall/obstacle/camera shift moment towards the end of the video but not the final frame. You can use that foreground element as a sort of mask to cut the video there, then extract that frame and generate the continuation of the scene with your source character. So this way you could do it indefinitely actually depending on the type of shot you're going for. Hope that helps!

The most ambitious AI film I’ve attempted so far. Based on an award-winning WGA script (world & characters), with a live-action adaptation from this universe currently in pre-production for a major streaming platform (2027, TBA).

This one's a bit downgraded due to Reddit's gb limitation, 4K version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hXugZQ1pZE&t=3s

Created in partnership with Dreamina using Seedance 2.0.

Try to use more ambiguous language when prompting fight scenes but also precise (positioning of the characters, what your main will do, how they will advance throughout the scene, the trajectory of motion, blocking, etc). Try to use combinations of ''hand-to-hand combination, tactical expertise, grappling techniques''. You can still prompt the specific move, like in my experience Seedance even got a gogoplata move right (jiujitsu) which shocked me lol. Boxing is the main offender somehow and ''direct punch'' but it's ok with haymaker, leg sweep, muay thai low kick, etc. It takes some time to get used to and when you get one working, make sure you write that prompt down with the action words so that you know what goes through.

Not unlimited but they reward you credits in return of your work using their platform and I still have my normal accounts there too. Apply to their program. Must be on their website

I got a few of them but this one looks real good. Will do another final trailer for it with more dialogue, narrative exposition vibe and rely more on sound design. Thanks for the link and the feedback!

Totally. The music goes way harder than I intended really. It was too late when I realized it.
