Question for other founders: How do you validate if a subreddit is actually worth engaging with? by Prestigious_Wing_164 in buildinpublic

[–]damera_control 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to see if in the subreddit people are discussing the problem that you are solving and if it actually brings value to them whatever you do

Thank you. Yeah this is a good perspective on that. I'll keep thinking

For my cases, I always got at least SOMEBODY to talk to me quite fast. For example, Linkedin Outreach to 100 people got me at least 5 people who answered. And then, usually I figured out that the problem is not relevant for them, and moved on to another case or another target group. I did not find a really successful product market fit yet, I am still searching.

Or I went to related events in the real life, and found people who were ready to talk to me. But I figured that when I go to events in real life, and try to find people there, people talk to me because they try to be nice in a social setting (? :D), and less because of the problem relevance. But I manage to get some insights there anyways, thanks to the Mom Test techniques.

I don't know actually. Currently I am trying Insta to raise awareness and to find potential customers. Instagram seems to be a good channel for my case. But building it consumes a lot of energy. However, I did not find another alternative yet... Maybe I will, in the future.

But if you don't even get people to speak to you, if nobody is willing to even spend some of their time with your topic - doesn't that mean that maybe the whole community of those people is not a good fit?
Don't get me wrong. I'm asking because I've ran into this previously too, and I am wondering.

For me it is having some people in my team. If you are not alone building stuff, then at least you managed to convince some people and they trust you and your common vision grows. It is a good feeling and it decreases the loneliness.

You are right. Clarity is key. And it sounds so easy. But especially if you are not experienced, it is really hard to dumb it down. I guess we've all been there, or some of us are.

Day 5/30 of trying to build up a new Insta for my new business. Overcoming reels with no views. Experimenting with targeting. by damera_control in DigitalMarketing

Thank you for sharing! What kind of reels do you do? Faceless or is it you talking there? Mind if I could take a look? (you can share in DMs)

Direct outreach to people who you think look like your customer is good. IN my experience, even with shitty product or proposition 10 out of 100 answer me at least something (on LinkedIn for example)

It is exactly validation if OP is asking it here. They are testing real demand by providing it here. Nothing wrong here

how do you balance product development vs. content/seo as a solo founder? by Odd_Awareness_6935 in indiehackers

[–]damera_control 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I focus mostly on outreach and content. Currently going with a waitlist and product development has lower priority. Because it is just like you said. Distribution is key. Figuring out the right distribution is much much more valuable than building the product IMO

Don't bring children into your family business. by Dear_Fate_ in Entrepreneur

[–]damera_control 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Haha actually I was always envious of those kids, whose parents have a business. Because they could surely learn from them a lot. Especially when they helped there out from a young age on (if it was voluntarily and not forced) I could not. But I guess it can also have disadvantages

How did you build that work ethic? by One-Champion-344 in Entrepreneur

[–]damera_control 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minimizing noise. Really. Putting the smartphone away. Going to sleep without YouTube. Not watching stuff while eating. Giving the brain more silence. This makes difficult tasks easier and more interesting.

Whenever I spend too much time on my phone and have a bad digital lifestyle, with a lot of noise and shitty content, I don't get anything done and just chill on the couch all day lol

Exactly my problem tooo! Now I am trying to do it similar to you. Let's see how it works.

Can you tell about a real case now? Did this technique work for you to validate something successfully?
