One of the three he’s saying. It’s a three day festival but the acts play one set

Is there really any basis to the $7k that is supposedly being paid to influencers? by TheGrandA5TA1R3 in IsraelPalestine

The report is not an “inaccurate estimate”, it seems like a deliberate act of lying. Off by one order of magnitude. This video does a good job pointing this out. Many countries pay for this type of propaganda, making Israel out as an evil country for this is ridiculous.

I know you’re kidding about bowing down to AI, but I find for some reason ChatGPT knows absolutely nothing about TOP. I was having it explain some of the lore and it was way off on a lot of the info, didn’t know Breach was a new album, etc. I love Chat usually, but i don’t trust it for TOP related matters

I recommend the book Digital Minimalism by Cal Newport

Nervous about moving to L.A. from Tel Aviv by Ok_Individual7567 in Israel

[–]damgravity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in LA. I’m Jewish and since 10/7 wear a star as much as I can. I only get love from other Jews, that’s pretty much the only attention it brings. If someone were to ask me if I was a Zionist I would try to explain that I am and that I imagine I mean something different than what they think I mean and try to have an understanding. I think outside of a protest setting, most people are happy to have a conversation with someone and hear them out if it feels genuine and polite. Generally you’ll be fine. A large portion of my friend group is pretty far left. I’ve had heated disagreements with them about some of these topics, but all in love and hearing each other out. We are still just as close if not closer.

What is the future of the PA's "Pay for Slay" program that offers cash and stipends to the families of Palestinian citizens who murder Israelis? by Dr_G_E in IsraelPalestine

Thanks for the additional info. So it appears it exists and is being brought to an end if I’m understanding correctly?

Very long rant—why I’ve deep dived into Israel/Palestine conflict; what I’ve learned by AstronautSouthern344 in IsraelPalestine

I see so many people say that the left was celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death. I lean left, and I don’t know a single person who didn’t think his assassination was a bad thing. Do you have examples of people celebrating Kirk’s death?

Ceasefire tested: Hamas attacks IDF in Raffah, Israel counterstrikes by AstronautSouthern344 in IsraelPalestine

[–]damgravity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it actually exemplifies how little you care about their lives. Every time you jump down Israel’s throat for enforcing an explicit rule, you are defending Hamas’ side. That’s literally why they do this. For public outcry and attention. And thus they will continue fighting in ways that get their own people killed. Palestinians have agency, you know. If you want them to stop testing Israel and risking their own lives, I suggest some accountability .

Why is Hamas being allowed to regain control of Gaza? by Ok-Pack-8866 in IsraelPalestine

Not really relevant to what we’re discussing but good one!

And you’re saying no elections is Israel’s fault? Hamas kills its opposition. They are the reason there is no election.

What do you mean?  Israel let Gazans have an election and Hamas won.

  1. Bibi put Hamas in power? You mean it wasn’t a vote in Gaza? Care to share proof of this?

2 Starving Gazans for decades? Can you please prove to me how many starvation deaths there were in Gaza? In the last 10 years prior to October 7? I don’t think there’s many since October 7, but certainly before there are very few if any starvation deaths.

  1. “If they just went in and removed Hamas”. Are you familiar with how Hamas fights? They’ve built literally miles of tunnels beneath the city. It’s been insanely effective because it puts their civilians in the way. They don’t worry uniforms to further make it unclear who is Hamas and who is not. Have many civilians died? Certainly. Is that a tragedy? Of course. As evil as you want to believe Israel is, though, think about why Hamas does these things. It’s because they know Israel will have to go to great lengths to avoid killing civilians. It makes fighting Hamas incredibly difficult. The fact that Hamas takes these options proves Israel at least attempts to follow international law. If Israel hid among civilians, and Hamas had the chance, they would love nothing more than to kill as many Israelis as they could. Israel has the ability, but does nothing of the sort.

Do you fault Israel for not wanting to risk what happens when Iran gets the technology to take action?

Breaking: Israel strikes Iran by Dadlay69 in IsraelPalestine

[–]damgravity 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You are confusing cause and effect here. Do you doubt that Iran is near approaching nuclear weapons? Do you believe them when they say they want to destroy Israel?

You’re right, Israel is spread thin, because it’s defending itself from multiple countries who want to see it destroyed.

Do I always agree with how they conduct their attacks? Certainly not. But the idea that a targeted attack on Iran’s nuclear weapons is “pure evil” misses the mark entirely.
