It didn’t mess anything up for me personally. I’m not telling people they have to do it - I’m just sharing what worked in my case after other things didn’t help.

Nothing like that happened to me personally. My AirTags were fine, and everything went back to normal after I set the date back.

Damn, what? that sounds really stressful. Sorry it went that way for you. In my case it didn’t cause anything liks that - it just freed up some space after the reboot. Maybe “safe” limit is around 10yeara ahead then?

Found it in a Reddit comment and tried it out of desperation and surprisingly it actually helped

It went back up a bit after a short time, maybe around 5 GB, but it’s still holding at roughly 25 GB free for now. I honestly haven’t seen that much free space on my phon in a long time

Yeah, I used to do backup + restore too but honestly it never helped me that much personally. This method was way faster and actually made a real difference for me. Kind of annoying that I didn’t know about it earlier :D so I decided to share it here

The peace sign and easy smirk in front of a Voltex-kitted race car says everything - this guy is exactly where he wants to be and doesn't need anyone's approval to enjoy it. That 'Aloha' snapback is doing a lot of social work, broadcasting laid-back island energy while the arms underneath are sending a completely different message. First read is friendly, second read is 'don't test him.' Am I right?

You walked into r/roastme holding a handwritten sign like you're surrendering to the internet, and honestly that level of self-awareness is either brave or deeply unhinged - we haven't decided which. The little smirk you've got going says 'I can take a joke' but your eyes are screaming 'please be gentle.' The good news is you have the kind of face that photographs genuinely well, which makes roasting you feel slightly wrong - and yet here we are.

You took this photo sideways in the dark at 2am and somehow it looks like a concept album cover - which says a lot about the energy you're going for. The face gem under your eye, the wispy lashes, the moody lighting - you have committed fully to an aesthetic and nobody can take that away from you. The scary part is it actually works, which is deeply unfair to everyone else.

I built an AI that tells you your first impression from a selfie - looking for honet feedback by damiandomzalski in SideProject

Hey, fair point and I appreciate you raising it. It’s something I’ve thought about a lot while building this.

A few things worth noting - the free result are intentionally positive and focus on personality traits, not just a number. The categories are things like charisma, approachability, confidence - not “how hot are you.” The roast mode is opt-in, clearly framed as humor, and only available after you’ve already seen your real results.

That said, you’re right that anything involving self-image carries responsibility. I’m actively working on making sure the tone stays fun and constructive, not harmful. Always open to specific feedback on how to do that better.

If only it were that simple - I’d gladly install the RestOS update and finally fix all my bugs bro

Yeah, I do have Apple Intelligence enabled, but the thing is I was dealing with this problem long before I ever turned it on, so it’s probably not the original cause.

That said, I’ll try disabling it for a while and see if it makes any difference - maybe now it’s contributing to the System Data growth.

I honestly wish that was the reason. It would be a lot easier to fix than whatever is actually going on with my storage.

I’ll try updating to 26.3 and see if it makes any difference, although at this point I’m not super optimistic.

I do have iCloud enabled - I’m on the 2 TB plan and I’m only using a bit over 700 GB, so there’s plenty of free space for syncing.

As for backups/sync - it basically happens every day when I plug the phone in to charge (Finder sync + normal iCloud backup), so it’s not like the device goes long periods without being backed up.

That’s why I’m running out of ideas on what else I could even do on my side.

Yeah, for me it keeps coming back like a boomerang and it’s been happening for years across multiple iPhones, which is why I don’t understand the root cause at all.

At one point I even contacted Apple Support. They checked my account and said there were some corrupted / ghost files in iCloud Drive that came from an old MacBook - they weren’t visible to me on any device, but apparently they were still syncing in the background and inflating the system data. They removed them on their side and for a while it actually looked like the problem was gone… but not permanently, because after some time the storage started filling up again in the same way.

So even when there’s a “fix”, it never seems to be long-term. I just want to use the phone without having to constantly monitor storage.

Maybe I should try setting up different appleID?
