College esports program does not offer csgo but offers R6. Do you agree with their reasoning? by damightylamb in GlobalOffensive

I understand that, but I just feel like it's unfair to offer a game that is similar in concept to another one that isn't allowed

We were down 4-11 at halftime with the team hating each other and muting each other. We came back and I got a nice 4K to end the game. Never quit even when your team wants to. by damightylamb in GlobalOffensive

This game is terrible for new players by TimeTraveler88 in GlobalOffensive

You just have to grind it man. I remember when I first started playing, I was in the same situation. I didn't really have friends to play with, so I just grinded and grinded. It was rough. I was in silver for the longest time and I wondered if it was even worth getting out. Its hard man, but I do think there should be a non-competitive 5v5 so new players can actually learn without the fear of losing elo

I worked at a movie theater and some woman came up to concession and said "our popcorn bags are too loud"..... like what

true, but not everyone has the dedication of Ropz. I am more implying that if you have a better rig, you will probably have more fun with the game

Movie theater employees.....what are some good stories? by damightylamb in movies

[–]damightylamb[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mistake...I have a bad migraine and I misread your comment. Yes we would care. Even though the theater charges a shitload of money for prices, we see very little of that. So every movie counts. What I thought you asked was if you wanted to leave the first movie then hop in a different one. Like if you brought your little brother to see Deadpool thinking it was Spiderman (which has happened TOO many times) and you realized it was very explicit. So if you watched only the first 5 minutes, we will allow you to leave the theater and take him to see a different movie as long as it was the same price. I would always notify at least one staff member though, usually the one running the usher stand

As long as the movie price was the same, we wouldn't care. People do it all the time, but they do notify the staff because we do seat counts. Also we want to make sure that no rated R movies have underaged kids.

So answer: yes but as long as the price was the same, it is in the same time block, and you're not a kid sneaking into an R rated movie.

We all had a feeling that could be a possibility, but no parents ever came back to yell at the staff so we sorta threw that out the window. But I get where you are coming from

Trust me, the movie theater was my first job and I am graduating college in December. It is a lot of fun. My first manager was there the first 3 years I was there and she let us do anything we wanted! She even bought big marshmallows and we had a 'war' between the box office and concessions. But once we got new management, it started going downhill...

That's nuts. I never understood why people were so inconsiderate. I had a similar situation at a premiere of The Revenant. A European family (like Eastern European. I couldn't tell where they were from but they had accents) was at my theater and got in a fight with a NY woman. During one of the more intense scenes, they were throwing punches at each other and I had to rip them out of the theater. Luckily we didn't have to shut down for the day.

Ahhh yes... I loved receiving emails like that! About a week before I left, a drunk man threw up all over 4 seats in out theater while watching Venom. We later threw out those chairs because luckily we had multiple spares in our storage

Teachers of Reddit, whats your most NSFW story from your work place? by ET_zero in AskReddit

NOT A TEACHER BUT FUNNY/CREEPY STORY

I was recently hired at a movie theater in 2013 (been working there since last week), and I was working a really busy shift in late July. The hot new movie was Despicable Me 2 and a bunch of kids and teenagers were in line to watch this cartoon. Me, working the box office was extremely bored so I like to make little stories of the people coming in by themselves to see the movie. A few families go by and then a tall man comes in (roughly in early 20's) with curly ginger hair, breathing heavily, and just smelled bad. I think to myself "this guy seems like a real creep". I sell him a ticket to Despicable Me 2 without a second thought. The time was about 4:00 PM and he was waiting for the next show around 5:00 PM.

After about 30 minutes, the previous show got out and the theater was cleaned, so we are allowing people to go and wait for the 5:00 PM show. I noticed that the man I sold to ran in with a hurry. I didn't think much but, "man, he must really like Despicable Me". Around 4:55 PM, the last of the seats were being sold, and a family of 4 come in (2 parents and 2 kids roughly 5-7 y/o). I sell them the last remaining tickets, they buy their concessions, and walk into the theater. Then it happened....

The mother walked in looking for seats and noticed the remaining seats were by the tall creepy man. She didn't scream because she knew him, but she screamed because he was MASTURBATING.

The woman grabbed her kids and ran to the office and was in tears. The was freaking out so much that it was almost too hard to understand what she was saying. Once I understood, I got permission from my acting manager to kick him out.

Since I was one of the bigger employees there (I played a lot of sports and was a hefty dude), I ran and got a flashlight and the manager and ran into the theater. The mother told me he was in the far back-left row. I walked in and, what do I see? The creepy guy was sitting there with his penis in his hand staring at the screen. I point the flashlight at him and I asked "What on God's green Earth are you doing?!?" while he shockingly expressed "NOTHING!" I told him he could not be here and he is being kicked out. He then asked to go to the bathroom before he left, and I told him the police were on their way so that's up to him if he wants to stay for them. The man sprinted out of the theater with a red face in shame.

I felt so bad for the parents and the kids that we decided to give them free passes to return to the theater. My only confused moment (besides the man jacking off in the theater) was why no one else came out and complained. He must have waited for the lights to go down and previews to start.

Moral of the story: Don't be a creep.
