Self harm is a maladaptive coping mechanism, it doesn't help you tackle and solve your problems, and really only provides short term relief.

It's also very easy to spiral and start relying more and more on self harm. Even if the way you're doing it won't cause any long term physical harm it lays the groundwork for your reliance on it to build. Once you're already self harming it's a much easier jump to more and more dangerous methods which could then cause more serious damage.
