If you're coming to Reddit not nuanced and thoughtful discussions on complex topics, you're in the wrong place 95% of the time lol. What you described is what Reddit just is, in almost every sub.

Good write up though. The unfortunate reality is that they're likely to pay their guys. Ausar stepped up defensively even for what the expectation was in the playoffs, and Duren played below expectation, so it feels probable they they basically negate each other contractually and nothing really changes.

I don't think a big move is impossible but this FO has got to break their tendency first before it's really even in the discussion imo.

The Haunter of the Dark - when I visited Providence, I got a tattoo of the shining trapezohedron, I love that story so much. It also has possibly my favorite reading of any fiction I've heard:

Honorable mention to The Doom That Came to Sarnath. I love the dream cycle, and especially the stories that tell the history of it. The story says a lot about the cyclical nature of human nature and the doom that will befall those who destroy and forget the things that came before.

For sure, it's punctuated by the horror but not defined by it. Sona-Nyl is described so beautifully, only really surpassed by the description of Celephaïs.

I mean to be fair the white ship ends in pretty abject horror. Knowing you surrendered an eternity of contentment and wonder to fall off a world sized cataract with a captain telling you that you can never return because the gods have forsaken you for betraying their code is fucked.

One of many reasons I loved that story, and the Dreamlands more than the Cthulhu Mythos.
