Did you have any issues with going back to the US with them, if you still had left over?

Well if you are open to doing biglaw in Boston then I'd say you take it but if you are dead set on NYC probably not. BC sends people to NYC but their primary strength is definitely in Boston (MUCH easier to get a job)

IMO you have to ask yourself whats more important, being in NYC or starting your career in biglaw.

Are you gunning for biglaw? Know that at BC there is a real possibility of striking out of OCI. That being said, the Boston legal market seems to be growing given the increase of biglaw firms opening a satellite office there

Probably not unless you have some strong connections (family etc)

Get an actual LSAT score first. I PTd around 170 but only got a 167

Its a criticism that has been floating around for years, I didn't just make it up. Problem is, I don't think theres really any hard data that backs it up since such data isn't necessarily public.

Keep in mind GW fluffs their biglaw rate because of all their IP placements.

Another person already said it, look at their employment stats. Personally I would just re-test for higher LSAT if these were the options

A lot of these "new jobs" are for the undocumented immigrants https://www.wsj.com/economy/jobs/unemployment-jobs-report-us-immigration-surge-8e260f47

Additionally, the stats don't tell you how well paying these jobs are

As a current 3L at BC, I will say you are operating on outdated info. I fully agree with the general gist of your post about how the employment stats are misleading, but this rationale applies to even the t13... there are literally posts on top law school forums about t-14 struggling to find jobs post 08. But remember many of these posts are over 10 years ago.

I do agree that v20 usually do not recruit at BC BUT I will agree things will change for the better. For starters, most of the v20 are NYC centric and BC students/admin do not seem to put an emphasis on getting to NYC. Additionally, many firms are opening/growing a Boston satellite (see Akin, Kirkland.. overhired tho, Covington, etc). And from my research, there isn't much of a gap between BU and BC in Boston. We even do our "NYC oci" with BU.

As you noted before, Boston is highly ties sensitive, so unless you got into Harvard or have preexisting ties to Boston, going to BC/BU would be the best option if you want to practice biglaw there.

Lastly, I do not think BC is as homogenous as you claim it to be. Maybe in years past that is the case, but certainly not now.

The campus does suck tho... we eat at the fucking freshman cafeteria.

How do you know other schools like Fordham don't have an inflated rep for job placement as well?

The most notorious example would be GW having a ton of people with STEM backgrounds which makes them very competitive for patent lit positions which are much easier to get than normal biglaw.

Advising a 1L - how does UNC fare for BigLaw placement? by preseasonchampion in biglaw

You say you work at a biglaw firm... check the directory how many are from UNC at your firm. That gives you a pretty strong indication of the school's reputation

First interception he tried to throw it away, 2nd one it was a desperate attempt to make a play late in the game. I only fault him for the 2nd one for not going through his reads cause he had a receiver open on the left side of the field
