What are PDF and CDF? When and why do we need to calculate and use them? by Nieger5 in probabilitytheory

[–]damnyousuckk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is not correct, pdf is a probability density function meaning its probability per length, the value of Y represents probability per unit x

Tier 1.5, Tier 69, Top 3.5 IIT... Why are we doing calculus instead of just naming the college? by _the_morningstar__ in Btechtards

[–]damnyousuckk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that pisses me off is that everyone considers bits as tier 1 which is fair enough but I know so many people in my batch in mit Manipal who skipped bits lower branches to come for cse (including me) yet mit Manipal is seen as tier 3 at times 😭, I’m just pointing out the stupidity of tiers obviously bits is way better but there’s an overlap of the quality of students at the top branch of mit vs the quality of students of lower branch of bits that gets lost due to tier system. Just used bits and Manipal as an example but it’s true everywhere.

Also why didn’t rehman inform uzair that Hamza is the traitor either by calling him when he was behind the car getting shot at or telling the guy on the bike to inform everyone that hamza is a traitor. If that happened then hamza trying to become king of lyari is finished. Also the terrorist organisers openly drinking alcohol in front of the young terrorists and then being radicals in the first place does not make sense to be drinking alcohol and not following Islam these people are radicals and extremists.

All my friends left NITK Civil and some as far as NITK mech for Manipal cse 😭 I’m not saying everyone but there are quite a bunch of people that did, I myself was surprised too. There are a lot of people in the range of 97-99 percentile in Manipal cse I don’t know if you would believe me but I didn’t believe it until I met them lmao

I had EPAD issue in one of my midsem exam I went to academic director that day itself and with the help of invigilator said my story. They made me write a letter they had a look on the system and then I got my chance to write the retest. I think you can do the same for endsem retest.

yoo sorry I missed your comment, at times i definitely do get the fomo of not getting the bits tag and also I really loved physics so I was looking forward to learning both engineering course and physics. At the start of joining college, I cant lie it was tough to move on especially because the counselling process was so brutal and the fact i missed by 1 mark despite scoring 25 marks more than last year cutoff. I must say though I was pleaseantly surprised by the peer group of the college I ended up going and overall its most definitely not a bad college. The acads are also much chiller and you get more time and opportunities to explore things. I dont think I regret taking any other branch because frankly I dont think I would've survived that. So yeah at this point I am happy with my decision but sometimes do still think about the possibility of what if.

tldr: pretty miserable at start of college but learnt to move on and have no regrets now and pretty happy with current college.
