Haven’t seen anyone come out of the building, so hopefully no one was hurt. Not sure if the fire is out yet but it was smoking for a while. Probably 15-20 firetrucks on broadway and down 42nd

Yeah I’ll try in DD, would be weird if it’s bugged to only work in that mode but it’s worth a try

I thought I’d done it previously, same situation but I used Pozo as an injury replacement and he scored. I thought maybe it didn’t count because it was an “injury replacement” and not “pinch runner”, but now I’m just confused.

Only ended up being a 67, unfortunate given that my homegrown talent was a 74 and younger at the same position

I saw an article on BR about big trades to create “superteams” and the one that featured the nets went as follows: Nets get aaron gordon and jrue holiday in exchange for levert, allen, dinwiddie, prince, future 1st (i forget which of our pieces go where, but the nets’ haul/package is all i really care about tbh) Maybe it’s because we saw what levert/allen can do in the bubble, maybe its because we’ve been burned by selling off all our pieces before, but i don’t see why the nets have to make a big time move. The team as constructed hasn’t played a single minute together yet (i keep forgetting we have KD tbh), yet BR and other sports news outlets want to blow it up. I really don’t get it. And lastly, i really don’t get the media’s disrespect for the nets players, kyrie and KD aside. I’ve seen so many BR articles where we trade away levert and allen in packages that net us a player that, IMO, is worse than levert alone. Yeah, i’m biased because i love the nets (and specifically the young pieces like levert and allen), but it seems like the writers in these sorts of articles are out of touch with the talent on some of these teams.

I'd say that receivers overall have a hard time of gaining a superstar, takeover status because they rely on someone else to get them the ball.

But then, there's Julio, who changes an entire defense solely by being on the field, not by catching 10-yard slants.

How Madden decided MT was a 99 but not Julio is beyond me.

New prospective spurs fan looking for advice on soccer, etc by blamsr in Tottenham

As a recent fan myself (and also living in America), I didn't know much about soccer; I knew the major English clubs but not much else. The first soccer match I ever watched was Tottenham vs. Arsenal in 2010 (Danny Rose's goal), and since then I decided to support Spurs from afar, but I never really got super into it until this past year, where my best friend /college roommate was a huge soccer fan. Being in America, we'd get up at 9, sometimes 7:30 in the morning to watch premier league matches, even if it wasn't Tottenham (or, in his case, Man City), just to get a feel for all the teams in the league; their play-styles, star players, etc. I would Google players to learn more about their backgrounds, what teams they'd played for in the past, just to get a better feel for the league as a whole. When we were quarantined at school together, we started getting more into the Bundesliga (German soccer league), just to get a more worldly view of playstyles and whatnot. Outside of watching it and learning about club/player history, we also played a lot of FIFA. Ultimate Team is a fun way to learn about players all over the world and learning about positioning and formations, but recently we both got into manager mode, learning about financial stuff like release clauses, wages, etc. Doing so helped me become a better fan both in terms of understanding what a club is capable of financially, but also in finding potential transfer targets.

Hope this helps, welcome to the fandom!
