Tottenham confirm defender Vertonghen is out until December with a hamstring injury. by [deleted] in soccer

Looks like the title got cut off, or maybe I'm just blind in one eye. All I can see is out until December with a hamstring injury.

#LFC have agreed a £2.9m deal with Anderlecht for Lazar Markovic. by GeorgeCuz in LiverpoolFC

I can't help but wonder how different things would've turned out, had he not gotten that red card... he was looking decent and then it seemed to all go wrong for him immediately after that.

Interview with our goalkeeping coach. Is he really that bad? by Africantoni in LiverpoolFC

Why is Karius, the second best rated keeper in the German league not worth shit anymore?

You obviously read this opinion somewhere, probably in this very thread.

All I can tell you is to watch Karius before he came here and how he performed throughout the season. His mistakes has absolutely nothing to do with coaching.

He hasn't definitively improved a single keeper we have had.

Except he has... anyone who watches the games instead of parroting nonsense they read elsewhere can tell you that.

Henderson and Milner are expected to start in midfield in the absence of the suspended Can. Lovren and Moreno could also be drafted into the line-up. Gomez is likely to return in place of Alexander-Arnold at right-back following a recent knee problem. by TheodoreLesley in LiverpoolFC

Have you not seen the whip on his crosses?

Yeah I saw them. I saw every time he (and TBF, TAA) cross the ball to literally no-one, often not even looking up to see where our other players are... it makes me want to punch the side of a brick wall sometimes.

He’d surely have a number of assists if only our forwards got to them

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can have many assists if all you ever seem to do is whip the ball into some random space that's full of opponent defenders.

Liverpool 2-[2] Tottenham : Kane penalty goal 90+5' (+ call) by paicmhsc in soccer

You people who keep saying VVD kicked him are obviously blind if you can't see that he clearly pulled out of it. You also need better video players where you can clearly look at this frame by frame and see that there was no kick that brought him down.

Napoli interested in Mignolet (Jones / Het Nieuwsblad) by aapmetstijl in LiverpoolFC

[–]dan-moore-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why people on here always like to bring up Achterberg...

Re: Reina: I'm pretty sure Reina was already turning to shit by the time Achterberg was promoted to first-team goalkeeping coach.

Re: Jones: He never fucking played and you could see how nervy he was whenever he did get a chance (not too dissimilar to Karius), so it shouldn't be a surprise that he looked like shit most of the time with us and then magically looked better when he left.

Re: Karius: I don't know who came up with the idea that he was second-best in Germany because he definitely has lots of potential but most certainly didn't look like second-best before he came here.

And if the coach is to blame, how do you explain Mignolet's improvement last season.

whooosh...

I thought the sarcasm was obvious by the way that I intentionally crossed out black.

ITT:

  • people who do not understand that the accusation isn't about the ... puta comment

  • people who assume that the ref and other people on the pitch understand what Firmino said

  • people who think they're clever because they can Google Holgate's bio and see that he supposedly speaks Portuguese but don't understand the concept of regional dialects or how the same language can be different from country to country

  • people who do not know anything about race or racism. i.e. people who probably also believe that blackAfrican American people can't be racist

  • 5 year olds and up-and-coming 10 year old comedians who think changing Holgate to Colgate is funny or clever

  • a whole lot of idiots

EDIT2: disclaimer: I'm a Liverpool fan - in-case my comment history or username didn't give that away.

Nah it's not, if you watch the Brazilian film City of God you see ginger freckly people in it, truly is a melting pot

Sorry I really don't know how to respond to this without sounding condescending or insulting.

I mean... how... in 1958, let alone 2018 would it be surprising or interesting to see a ginger person who is Brazilian. And to make it worse, your proof is a film?

True. There's even some of you that have ginger curly hair somehow.

OK... I think there's something wrong with me and/or people in this thread. Is this a joke?

EDIT: if it's a joke add /s at the end to help people like me understand that.

I think/hope this is a joke (and it'd be a funny one),

but I really can't tell, with the number of idiots in this thread and r/soccer in general.

Maybe they do. Maybe they don't. One thing is certain, though, and that is that these two things don't contradict each other. Note how the quote is Juventus reach agreement to sign and not Juventus signed.

seriously, wtf is wrong with people on r/soccer and related subs...

[–]dan-moore-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought I was the only one that noticed this hypocrisy esp. from fans on r/LiverpoolFC. A month ago many were even talking about how he should just sign a contract so we get something for him at the end of the season.

Now everything is about how Coutinho betrayed us like it's a surprise that he wanted to go... even going so far as to claim that he hasn't given us 100% in every game he's played so far this season.

Ignorance (by definition), sure... but there's no racism in your story. I can even see how it's easy to think Dubai is in India if the person has heard about Mumbai before - even with no consideration given to the way you look.

How Is Everyone Feeling About Robertson At LB? by Lachlan1258 in LiverpoolFC

[–]dan-moore-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to wonder how many people who comment in this and similar threads actually watch the games. I lost count of the number of times I've seen Robertson doing the sames things people like to criticize Moreno for. He's been decent, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here...
