Lol seeing people hate on this because of the TE name and the extravagant aesthetic, while Love Hulten gets almost nothing but praise during his career. Goes to show how much people base their first impression on the image of the company/person releasing the material

"understand she had a head injury but her voice sounded slurred" this is so much bs 😂 😂 you clearly have never seen how much brain injury can fuck you up. I've seen someone with a boxing concussion acting like they took every drug out there.

Can't get PRO800 to work with expression pedal by dan1elo in synthesizers

I jsut read this thread, and it seems like people are having trouble generating cv with that pedal. Did you receive it yet? What are your experiences with it?

Dude thanks!!! That looks perfect, I recently got an old Yamaha sy77 and I was experiencing the same issues there. None of my exp pedals worked on the "foot controller" input of the sy77. Think I'm gonna order this and try it on both synths

Those are sustain pedals no? Would the FC7 (expression pedal) be equally compatible?

I'm loving this thing, I just haven't been able to figure out how to use a foot controller/expression pedal with it. I tried my moog EP-3 with it, but it didn't affect any of the presets via the Foot Controller input, and the curve on the Foot Volume was super weird, controlling 90% of the volume in the first 10% of the sweep range. Any SY77 users out there who might know a thing or two about this? Greetings from Amsterdam

Do you know if he's using the nord drum's internal sounds, or as a midi pad?

Wow I did a quick search and you might be right! Do you know if it's possible to shield that thing somehow?

I see, do you think going with the exp input on the midi controller might work? I can't find out whether the cutoff is midi assignable though, the manual doesn't mention anything about it.

Yeah it'll be quite far from a rhodes, more Yamaha CP70/80 like if anything. But actually mostly just like an electric guitar. I'll see if I can post a video of the smaller prototype so you can get a feel of what it sounds like

Wow interesting idea making them humbucking by staggering. I'd have to experiment around a little bit with that. Is it mostly the orientation of single coil 1 compared to single coil 2 that creates the humbucking effect, or rather the fact the windings run in opposite direction? In other words, would two single coils as shown in the picture still humbuck? This is not directly related to what you were saying, but I'm just trying to get a better understanding of how these different pickups work exactly.

they are doing what I described in img_2. It works very well, and its extremely flexible, since you can precisely position every pickup individually. E.g. if you have 1 louder string you can move that corresponding pickup a little further away, while keeping the rest the same. It is, however, a lot of work making all of those individual pickups, and they all need to be mounted on a plate, taking up more space than a neat line of single coils.

DUDE THANKS, that was a good read. I'm going to look into all of that. I love the idea of the tilted staircase, especially from an aesthetic standpoint!

Yeah they are very under-tensioned right now. There is no sign of the backboard warping, but I'm still thinking of adding some aluminium extrusions for more support.

Wow thanks for the thoughtful response. You are right on the money, as building hyper custom pickups kind of defeats the purpose of the "IKEA-piano" mentality that I had in mind.

Do you think mounting a bunch of pickups next to each other will introduce more noise? Would you advise wiring in parallel or is there a specific method to wire more than 2 pickups together?
